My gut says keep him in and let him ride this out to a top 5 pick.

But that's a fan take. There's guys on the roster who don't deserve that. We need to keep that in perspective too.

Sure, but Dalton will come in and go to IR in the same game. Then what?

Two first round WRs (including a top 10 pick), a top 10 pick LT, two huge money OGs, the highest paid OT in football at RT, now a big money RB. I mean...

Yeah man, needs more help. Guess we need 3 first round WRs, maybe a 1st round RB and a couple of 1st round OLs

Seems likely we're going to see Hooker sooner or later. We'll just see what happens when we get there.

At some point you gotta give up on Bryce and shift your attention to evaluating guys like XL and Sanders. It's hard to evaluate guys when the QB play is this trash. Hell, it makes me think T-Mac might be all world with a real QB.

I have to agree with you. I think it's going to come to a head in the locker room again if not.

I feel like we saw his ceiling when he returned to the starting line up last season - and although he was much improved he still was not the reason we won games, but at least he wasn't the reason we lost them.

He was the same QB at Alabama.  On his best days he was a game manager but he was never going to drive the field with 1 minute left in the game and make any hero plays.  People keep saying how that Alabama team lacked talent.  No, they lacked a first round worth QB.

It was Bryce who finally made Alabama look beatable after dominating for over a decade.

How the scouts missed this is beyond me.

Just curious, but what are the "give him more time" clinging to?

Well for one, what other realistic choice is there?

Barring a season ending injury, Bryce is the guy for this year.

Next year all options are open, but there aren't any other real world solutions for the 2025 season.

I do wonder if the Panther would trade him or keep him as backup to compete against the rookie if we draft a QB.
I mean what really could we get for him. Maybe a 5th?
As of right now the 5th year option should not even be entertained.

    • Our only hope is if "bad" Bryce is done for the season. "Serviceable to good" Bryce showed up for the end of last season. Let's hope that trend continues.
    • Always appreciate you, AL.  But it’s clear if you look at the initial post and the amount of poo reactions I got combined with all the decades old burns these troglodytes typed up, the vast majority of their objections are rooted in Shedeur and Deion hate.  I have seen a ton of “If Deion wasn’t his dad” arguments, but let me flip that - If Deion wasn’t his dad, and as a 5th round rookie, he just threw for 350+ yards and had 4 TDs, 99% of these guys would be interested in acquiring him.  I see why our fanbase is such a joke…  these the same folks who have spent 30 years hemming and hawing “well, there’s always next year,” or argued Chris Weinke should be starting over Jake through 2006, or we should’ve drafted Marcel Dareus over Cam.🤣🤣🤣🤣  They’re okay with mediocrity.  We finally have vaulted ourselves into contention in spite of the QB who has tried to play us out of it most games, and now they’re fat and happy and cool with the bare minimum from the QB position, so the cycle continues. Dont get me wrong, again, for the sake of this year I hope Bryce goes on a magical run, and against all odds, we win the Super Bowl.  But after the last 3 years, even if he does, we would be dumb to not still bring in competition to start at the QB position.
