Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?

I’ve never been high on Allar. But he’ll get drafted high due to traits alone. Big kid big arm

Mateer was my #1 guy to watch coming into this season. I would watch Washington St because of Cam Ward and once he left I kept watching for Mateer. Loose/live arm. Not a throw he can’t make

I haven’t watched much Nussmeier this year. I honestly think he would’ve gone high had he entered the draft. I assume he’ll still go high this next year

If we do end up drafting a QB in the first it better be because we have a new GM and HC

Here's Mel's take.  It scares me I agree with him on Mateer, but the rest of it is vintage Mel where he's on the hype train with these guys.  I'm comforted that he has Mendoza #5.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with any Kiper endorsement. It's been well documented that Kiper doesn't no squat.

Oh, I am well aware.  That's why him having Mendoza at #5 and not #1 is a sigh of relief.  Going back to Mateer, Brady Quinn put him on Mel's radar, so it's not exactly the kiss of death he's ranked so high.

Brady Quinn isn't someone I would rely on for expert advice either.

McShay says he feels better about Mendoza in the ugly win versus Iowa than when Indiana is blowing out opponents.  Iowa dialed up many zero blitzes and got home a few times.  One caused his pick where he rushed the pass with a LB barrelling down in his face.  To his credit, with the game on the line, Iowa dialed up another zero blitz and Mendoza beat it on a slant route for the winning TD.  McShay also likes his toughness as a runner.  He's not a gifted runner, but effective enough and doesn't shy away from contact especially when trying to get to the sicks.

Tough, accurate and not mentally fragile.  Until this dude (if) this guy lays an egg, this is my guy for the draft.  He survived a physical Iowa defense on the road whose game plan was to rough him up.  After being harassed and pummeled all game, dude marches his team down the field for the game winning TD.

It would be a breath of fresh air to have a QB overcome an ugly game to notch a win around here.

Dante Moore is the top pick in a couple of mock drafts now.

As we know, those rankings will only go higher...they always do.  If all four declare and are 100% healthy while staying productive, they all will be in the top 10 by draft time.  Count on it.

Here's another.  Sellers is not refined enough..yet.. to be #1 overall.

Still think Moore might be the best based on the small sample size.  Indiana and Oregon should play each other so that could be interesting.  Sellers probably has the highest ceiling but he will need time and I feel like he is a prime candidate to get rushed out and ruined early in his career.

    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
    • According to Scott Fowler, in an article about former Panthers announcer applying for a job with the Ravens... what that job pays, incidentally, when the Ravens posted it publicly they said the salary would be $4,000 to $5,000 per game. An NFL season consists of 20-24 games, including the preseason and potential playoff games, so it will end up somewhere between $80,000 and $120,000 a year. The person hired will be an independent contractor, which is commonplace in the NFL these days for team broadcasters, and also have other radio and TV hosting assignments.  https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article315839800.html
