    • The biggest draft bust in the history of the NFL, considering the assets and picks we gave up to draft him.

1. Performance

2. Potential (ie could you expect him to be good)

3. Cost

Bryce has been completely middling but not like a turnover factory like Jamarcus or Rosen. The Panthers have invested the world in him for this offense, for what it is, and at it's best it's completely bland and unremarkable. This is in an era where offense is greatly favored. Could you imagine Bryce playing in 2003 (or surviving?)

Cost is obvious.

I think we can all agree at this point that he just doesn't have the physical traits to do anything in the NFL except run a back up qb level offense and pad his stats in garbage time. It was ridiculous to draft this child first overall. Jamarcus was chubby when he came out but he had an absolute cannon and was built like a mountain. Rosen has the measurable you want and bounced around the league for a while. Bryce probably won't get another contract.

I think it's Bryce.

Thats some stiff competition when it comes to biggest bust or even top 3 or 5

How many of those names required teams to trade the farm to get them?

He gotta be top 3 all-time.

Not only did we trade the farm to trade up and get him...

But our dumb-ass owner FORCED this pick on us when our Head Coach and his offensive staff wanted another QB who is already a Pro-Bowler.  Oh yeah, we fired that coach and his staff 9 games into that season because he couldn't make Bryce work.

 dont think the trades matter.

If we had traded less or nothing for Bryce would he be a better QB? No
Would we still have wasted years on him? Yes
Would we have taken a different QB? No
Would Bryce still be a bust on a different team? Yes

The trade has nothing to do with the fact that he doesnt have the tools to be an NFL QB - the role he was drafted to play.

It could be the worst trade in history - although there is some stiff competition on that front too - but it doesnt change how big of a bust Bryce is.

"Middling" is extremely kind. His peaks have been middling. His basements have been every bit as bad as the Jamarcuses and Rosens of the world.

I don’t see how you can say that they don’t matter.  We gave up a haul and the 1st rounder became the 1st overall pick the following year.  It’s a tragedy.

They're arguing sunk cost. But you're right. This stink won't wash off for a long time. Best thing we can do is pull the plug for good and soon. These dreams of tanking getting the first pick and backing our way into another generational alpha QB are just that.

Sunk cost is for moving forward.  We’re looking back at who’s the biggest bust.  The cost is relevant.
