You had a chance to win the game. Had some penalties go our way to keep it alive. And you couldn’t get it done. The QB, coaching and team failed. But in those situations, it really does fall on the QB. The best can March us right down field. He can’t outrun a 39 y/o Calais Campbell

I recognize he didn't have a ton of time but he seemed to be indecisive on that final drive. One of the reasons he found success on the previous was how fast the ball seemed to come out

Even when you watch the mediocre QBs with tight pockets, they can stand and fling. Tua, Penix, Purdy, they can step up in tight pockets and make the throws

Bryce’s size doesn’t allow him to do that — his dropback speed and running ability is not remotely close to Kyler or Russ so he doesn’t create that space to step into things when he finds his sight lines. He’s just running scared if we’re not in an empty set vs softer zone packages.

He had a couple great plays moving out of the pocket or moving up in it in the 4th quarter, before that last drive. he just seemed to lose the mojo he'd been building... Just made it all seem like a mirage.

Yeah when he rolls out of structure, it’s either that or in empty sets where he looks best

I’m speaking to a deliberate quick dropback to give him space to step into things. All the short guys do it but he tends to set very shallow so always has to bail out if the line loses even just a bit of leverage. He’s too short to step up into it but also doesn’t have the space to do it.

Yeah he does a great job picking apart everything 5 to 10 yards away. That’s what he did at Alabama because you had depth chart full of game changers and teams were just trying the “bend don’t break” approach.

You don’t have that in the NFL and definitely not on the Carolina Panthers. He can’t get to the end zone in less than 10 plays or push the ball down the field. He crumbles with pressure and when he gets touched, the ball flys out of his hands. We have seen him throw it deep before and it turns into a duck and comes falling down awkwardly because he has no zip after 15-20 yards.

You can tell this when he runs around taking forever to get rid of the ball, he’s waiting for somebody to be super duper wide open so he doesn’t throw a pick or to move closer to him.
