You see, this is why I'm more critical of Dave Canales

I don't know if Canales is any good as a head coach yet, but he has done well with our non-XL receivers. I personally think he is handicapped by a key personnel and that is partly out of his hands for the next couple weeks.

He's also very young, so will absolutely have head scratchers and growing pains. But outside of Wilks he's probably already out best HC since Rivera, which isn't saying much, and imo his ceiling is unknown vs Wilks' which unfortunately seems well known.

Wow that’s actually really cool chatgpt can do that

Although, as we know Arizona sat in soft zone the entire second half. So there was a lot of dinking and dunking, but that’s the right thing to do in that situation.

Week 1 pass chart doesn’t look bad. He pushes the ball downfield more than several other quarterbacks I’ve watched. For some reason the huddle thinks other quarterbacks are constantly throwing 60 yard bombs. That is absolutely not the case. Some quarterbacks aren’t taking any deep shots at all.

Most of us are advocating for him to at least push the ball down field as much as he did last year, which he isn't really. I'm not super interested in all his incompletions beyond 15 because we all see the wounded ducks.

Of the overwhelming majority of young starters he has more attempts and far fewer completions deep. The only comparison in raw numbers is Bo Nix but of his 3 completions beyond 15, 2 are 35+ yards, so he is threatening deep.

I don't need that. I just need him to be doing something more than 5-10 yard passes in front of the sticks. If he doesn't, our running game will continue to suffer, too.

What QBs threaten downfield less than Bryce Young?

If there is one, it's got to be some weird cherry pick that doesn't compare to BY.  Like the Eagles hammering the ball on the ground and playing D.

What QB has less offensive firepower to threaten downfield than Bryce? It’s a team issue not a Bryce issue.

The term is “threaten.” As in make the defense think about it, not pull off da bomb flip every play

you don’t need prime Randy moss to toss a go route to the sideline to keep a safety honest.

you just need a wr to run deep and a qb with the arm strength and accuracy to….hang on I’m getting an update

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
