Posted this before but for 2025 our salary cap spending on the offense versus the defense is comically lopsided. We have invested a great deal just to try and make this kid look even mediocre and he can't do it.

Not really. I certainly wouldn't call it comical. There 8 teams spending more so it's not like they are way off the scale. Secondly, and more importantly, the majority of the spending is on the OL which I don't mind as much. It is a little high but I would rather have it there then being locked up in a bad QB.

Bingo.

Hit up the Vikings for Howell. Hit up the Chargers for Lance. Hit up the 49ers for Jones.

A competent NFL QB can be found if we try. Just staunch the bleeding.

At this point, I would take an average QB IF I could also have a stout defense and good ST's with it. Give me a team that plays competively, with the defense keeping games within reach. Give me some sacks, hits behind the line and interceptions. Give me a team that plays with some intensity, that is constatnly trying to impose their will on the opposing team. Just don't give me another soft ass team wiffing on tackles. I'll be more than happy wiith that - at least for a while.

Kyle Bailey and cohost said yesterday that they absolutely would pick up the 5th citing drew brees and sam darnold as examples but they would bring in a vet to compete.

Wtf are people watching?  Is this all a giant suck up to tepper.  People can point to darnold and brees but they overlook the vast wasteland of poo qbs that never worked out, mac jones, kenny pickett, zach wilson the list is endless.  Keeping bryce and hoping he turns into a top 10 qb is akin to winning the powerball, the odds are overwhelmingly against you.

and anyone using sam fuging darnold as an example of why we should keep bryce needs to have their head examined.  The dude has been the same player his entire fuging career.  Shows talent then mentally implodes at the faintest sign of pressure

Yeah lol Bryce gets compared to every other QB or player you can think of as an excuse.  Drew Brees, current Sam Darnold, Tom Brady, Steph Curry...as the famous Katt Williams once said, "Mike Epps is probably doing Mike Epps, why don't you do you??"

When is Bryce Young going to be Bryce Young and play as Bryce Young, the 1st overall pick??

Edit: This draft description of Brees does sound like Bryce though -- "he slipped due to concerns about his relatively short stature for a professional quarterback (6'0), a perceived lack of arm strength, and a sense that he had succeeded in college in a spread offense."

9th in offensive spending and 28th in defensive spending and folks like you complain about the defense not doing more but you don't see it as lopsided?
