Peanut should be in the Hall, because he literally has a widely used football move named after him. If you fundamentally changed the game, you should be enshrined.

I would say that qualifies a player for an exhibit in the hall more than enshrinement.
Like maybe the guy that threw the first forward pass or something.
The first soccer style place kicker.
Deserves credit for advancing the game.

How he did playing his position is kind of linked but should count for more than he was the first to do something. IMO

This is a nearly always a hot topic, but screw you guys....bresjesus is legit as they come and should be 1st ballot EASY.

He's got FIVE 5k seasons, the closest guy next is Brady with 2. He got the gifted ring.

He was the first player with 80,000 yards and 7,000 comp......Just insane

The fuger tossed a TD in 54 str games...

Quote

Brees has four of the top five single-season completion percentage marks in NFL history:

  1. Drew Brees (2018) -- 74.4%
  2. Drew Brees (2019) -- 74.3%
  3. Drew Brees (2017) -- 72.0%
  4. Sam Bradford (2016) -- 71.6%
  5. Drew Brees (2011) -- 71.2%

He's a first ballot HOF and he deserves it, fug you guys for making me defend him!!11!!

Brees, Fitzgerald, Anderson, Kuechly, Woodson

Those are my predictions for the next class.

I'd be shocked if we ever see another 5 man modern day HOF class if they continue with the new voting rules.

It's the same reason I no longer think Smitty will ever make it, and the same goes for any other player that many view as a borderline candidate, just always going to be way many splitting of votes for those non 1st ballot guys, they may never get in.

The 1st ballot and near 1st ballot guys will continue to get in, so someone like Kuechly is safe.

But the guys who in the past would take 10 years to finally get in, they just will never have a fair shot again unless it's like Sharpe this past season and get put in by the veteran committee.

career numbers should keep Manning out IMO, he really shouldn't even gotten this far, but he gets the NY bump and the name of course helps too

rings? I reckon Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer need some consideration too since they have a ring

you wanna rank this guy up amongst the all-timers? fuhgedoutit

I think he is. I just don’t like discussing him as such.

Eli does have two and his playoff accomplishments are pretty remarkable.

But, if you removed those from the equation it isn't a compelling argument at all.

How will they find a way to keep Luke out this time? It shouldn't even be a discussion but I fear they'll find a way.

Unless the rules changes, I don't think anyone else will get in.

I mean the only ding on him is lack of longevity but it was injury and he had 7 years I think of dominance once he was in the middle and defensive captain.
He was generally acknowledged as the best of his generation. I know Wagner was very good too.
I think he should be a lock but you know we’re the Panthers.

    • Baker was traded before he played his 5th year.  RGIII was cut before playing his 5th year. So it is rare but it happens.
    • Time to hit 4000 yards and 30 TDs (including rushing). I don't care about INTs anymore. That's a big part of the problem. He plays uber conservative until the game is on the line. Playing not to lose, instead of playing to win. Time to let it friggin rip from the get. The team can win with a pick or 2 if he has 3-4 TDs. Stop playing scared.  But to be fair, his WRs have not been great. You all can bash about 1st round picks and O-line cap all you want.  Chuba as your #1 RB his entire career.  Adam Thielen as your best WR for 2 of 3 seasons is ridiculous. Then a rookie as your best in the 3rd season. Legette is not a 1st round talent. Probably closer to a 4th if you compare him to Brazzel this year. Coker has been a walking injury report. Nothing else to really speak of at WR or TE. Jimmy Horn has potential, but he is not an NFL starter yet. Oline has been better as run blockers than pass blockers. Ickey has always been so-so as a pass blocking LT. Center has been a revolving door for 3 years. Damien Lewis has been as marketed. Hunt is a great run blocker but an ok pass blocker - when healthy. Moton has been solid at RT. Biggest problem with the oline has been depth. When someone went down, their replacement became a glaring weakness. Overall a good but not great unit the last 2 years. 2023 was a ish show. Nothing else to say.  Not one game breaker, take it to the house offensive weapon since DJ Moore. Hopefully we get a little of that from Brazzell.  Either way, in his 4th season, it doesn't matter. You have to be able to overcome whatever comes your way. First 3 seasons with a young supporting cast is defendable. Can't use that anymore though. 3rd year in the offense. 3rd year with the same HC.
    • Highest amount of OL salary cap in the league too. The Chiefs are behind us at 2 but we are ahead of them by a cool $23 million. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/position/offensive-line/_/year/2026/table/active/sort/cap_total
