QBs that would cost next to nothing and are better than anything we currently have.

Shanahan has made Jimmy G look good, Brock purdy look good, mac jones look good.  I am sensing a common denominator here.

The only whiff was Trey Lance and he did break his ankle and he is the only outlier of what KS wants

Darnold has an arm Bryce could never dream of having. Darnold also required a level of coaching that was not available to him during his time on the Panthers.

Why are you bringing up Bryce? Does anyone call him an elite QB? Not a chance in hell

Neither are anywhere close to an Elite QB

I don't think Jones gets out of Indy, unless the wheels fall off and the team collapses, which has happened before to them.

Also, regarding Jones, Indy felt adamant they had a roster that was good enough to win now, and the results so far speak for themselves. While I do think the Panthers are not catshit terrible, and that Young is holding them back, I would not declare the roster ready-to-win right now. There is a chance that Jones doesn't deliver the same results somewhere else.

Win what? We could probably have a winning record this year with an actual good QB. Maybe 9-8 or something.

I haven’t looked at their roster or seen them play so no opinion there but looks like they were right.

Your bar must be in hell

How do you not put him at least just under elite? I will answer. Because he choked the playoff game last year.

Look at Minnesota without him. Look at Seattle with him. He is elevating his teams. 2 different teams two sets of coaches and teammates in two years and he is performing.

If he isn’t elite he has to be in the next tier. No one has to like it. People here have their reasons (sour grapes)

Overpay for Daniel Jones - assuming he doesn’t take whatever offer Colts make during season so he can leverage free agency.

Gardner Minshew as the backup. Let Bryce and Andy walk off into the sunset together.

Leave a potential playoff contender for us?? You trying to offer him an 8 year, $70 mil AAV deal???

Yes, I would think that a .500 record should be a reasonable expectation. The ability to get defensive pressure, consistently and with results, without having to manufacture that pass rush with a blitz, is a vey big deficiency though.

I agree with the general premise of this thread.  We can't just give Bryce the starting QB job next season.

But it might happen that way. Last year showed how badly people wanted him to succeed because it was pretty universally opined that he did enough and showed he deserved it.
people could use those game winning drive stats again, and the big time throws and a couple of wins and he will be ‘in’. Definitely a lot of support out there for him.

Maybe he does something to prove to me* he should get it. That is about my best hope.

* I should have said the skeptics, instead of me.

yep. But who looked at the neglect of - and outright thievery from  - the defense, basically since we took Jaycee Horn high, and ever thought it was a one year fix? Not you and not me, pretty sure.
I mean they put the tab for Bryce on the defense, on top of some neglect that had already happened. So it was really extreme attrition. I admit to much resentment and yes I took it out on Bryce because he was supposed to be helping us. We weren’t supposed to have to help him like that. I could have been more sympathetic lol.

So last year I would have disagreed.

But this year, Minnesota's struggles shows he's better than I thought he was.  I don't think he's elite tbh, but man, I hope he proves me wrong.

Fwiw, I think he could have developed more here, he was doing well under Wilks.  But, I'm not sure he's got what it takes to win a Superbowl so I don't begrudge us or Minny) moving on.  Hoping he proves me wrong there too.
