Does Rivera know Clausen exists?

Read the article in the observer this morning. Between that and his other comments Rivera has made on the QB situation I have not heard him even mention Clausen. He basically speaks as if the guy isn't on the roster.

Which is a good thing. I would lose respect for any posturing about Clausen's potential, didn't get a fair chance, might fit into the scheme.

I think Rivera took the 30 minutes to decide that Clausen stinks and is wisely moving on.

Don't be supervised if Clausen is not on the roster by the end of 2011. You heard it here!

Rivera certainly knows Clausen does exist. That is why from day one all he has talked about is finding a QB. Rivera talks about that over and over and over.

I think Rivera knows not all QBs can function in all offenses. Clausen isn't meant for his and wasn't for Fox's.

Rivera has spoken plenty about Clausen. What he's generally said is that he doesn't believe last season should be taken as the be-all/end-all evaluation of him because it was a bad situation and he was thrown in sooner than he should have been. He's also stated that Clausen will have every chance to prove whether he can be the franchise quarterback or not.

Will he prove it? Unknown, but he'll be given a shot.

I wouldn't assume he goes into the season as a starter, but I have little doubt he'll be on roster through next season.

    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
