Unsustainable

Maybe I'm tired of opening a thread and its the same poo over and over. And its pretty clear that some of the posters here are actively hoping the Panthers lose because they distaste Bryce so much, even at 5-4. It's literally a worst case scenario every week if the Panthers win, and that gets super tiring very quick.

And I like you try to manifest that I am a "Bryce Lover". I've said over and over since Week 1 that he isn't it and begun looking at draft prospects (who all mostly suck and won't be any better than Bryce)

I don’t see the hoping to lose that you claim to see. I see people wanting better because they see a ceiling. They see another multi year commitment looming, that they don’t trust.

If you don’t believe in him either then your only complaint is, what… that people don’t celebrate him when we win a game?

We are like the jury waiting for the evidence. And not getting a lot of it. Again I don’t see the want to lose games that you are saying you see. So… okay whatever.

The other is as a really good long term backup QB for one team.  He's smart and will make for a great addition to the QB room in film study and game prep.  He won't be a stud replacement if the starter goes down, but he'd be better than most other backups and you know he'll be ready to play when called upon.

This. His best bet is to go home to California, and show up to Kyle Shanahan's office and say I'll be the 3rd string QB, just bring me in. Being the back-up for the 49ers should be his career hope right now.

Before you all rip me an ass, let me voice my opinion. It is not sustainable winning with 148 yards passing and no touchdowns. If they didn't have Stephen Davis rushing for 178 yards, they would be in deep trouble. I am thrilled that they are winning. I am not being negative, just realistic.

The season is almost half way over and they still have the problem of anemic QB production. Believe me, they know something has to give sooner or later. I like Jake as a person and seems like a good dude. But being a good dude will not win games in the long run.

Sooner or later, they will have to make a change. Their is a certain level of production that you need from the QB position. This kind of production will not get them to the next level.

We haven’t been asking Bryce to pass the ball much and in the Packers game, and many other games, we’ve had long, time eating drives. Since coming back from being benched, when Bryce has been asked to throw the ball, he has succeeded more times than not.

It's so fun watching us with 3 of the last 4 and be over .500-and I totally get what you are saying-BUT-the NFL (greatest league in the world) is such a week-to-week league.

NO WAY I thought we go to GB and pull that off-but the gameplan DC and co had was maybe the only one that would have resulted in a dub.  This week will be different and next and so on and so on........

This year- there doesn't seem to be a team that is just heads and shoulders above everyone else and that is what makes it so compelling to me...........so, I'm looking forward to the Saints and that's it- week to week for now!

Y'all have a good one!

We need to start asking him to pass the ball though. In 8 games we have to decide to extend, cut or 5th year option which will still end up in an extension. Can't make that decision if he's not being asked to do the caliber of things that 40m AAV QBs do.

Strong running game and defense will ALWAYS be sustainable. However, there will be games where one of them will have an off day, and on those days you need your QB to pick up the slack. Bryce has shown for 3 years that he is not capable of doing that. However, the way this team is being built, we are going to have a strong team for our next QB.

Falcons game? He is capable of it when he is asked to. We haven’t really needed him to this year so people believe he is horrible because of his low volume stat lines.

He is getting the 5th year option. No way we cut him lol.

for 3 years now, if it was a one off then you may have an argument but we are 30+ games in and its not gotten better
