If he is out, we shouldn't need him for the Saints.

I mean, we aren't actually in another universe from the Saints.  See the Jets game.  or the Cards game.  Or the Jags game.  Or the Pats game.  Or the Bills game.

We basically have 1 WR Bryce Young can sort of get the ball to.  That's it.  It's him.

He, saying it's "only questionable" doesn't mean much since it just popped up today in practice, to me that's just the initial thing they put down, particularly as if they knew he wasn't going to play already, making him doubtful or out would give the Saints that knowledge too.  Had he been on the report all week but still practicing in a limited designation, I wouldn't be concerned.

But late week hamstring pop ups can very much go either way.  Either it was a slight tweak so they then sat him down for the rest of practice to make sure he didn't make it worse and cause a real injury, or it was a real hamstring pull and they'll make him inactive for the game to hopefully only miss one week as opposed to multiple weeks by playing and making it worse.

Canales told reporters there is concern after the injury popped up today (whatever that means)

I tend to prefer quotes vs our hack media interpretations.

"Something popped up in practice, so you know we shut him down for part of it."

"We'll look at him again tomorrow morning, though, just to make sure that he's ready to go," Canales said. "We'll just take a look at him tomorrow and see where he's at, hoping he can go."

follow up question was, is it a serious concern or do you feel pretty optimistic.

Canales: "concern.  concerned.  Certainly so"

Well that's the problem, because as the other post here below says, he also said "to make sure he's ready to go", which is classic coach speak, both saying there is concern and then saying the other which makes it sound like they'd expect him to be able to play and need to confirm it tomorrow.

Did they shut him down because he legit got hurt or because he felt a small tweak and they did it as a precaution (which does happen all the time too), that's the question at hand.

Meh, if it was a "serious concern" I don't think he says the "just to make sure he's ready to go" part about it all.

Not saying he isn't legitimately hurt, but this just feels like one of those with much more questions than answers right now.

    • As he should. Belicheat tried to fool the other coaches so hard, he had people filming other coach's practices and attending other team functions. And he did it to the tune of six championships. Whenever it is brought up, people say things like "you do everything you can to win" or "if you aren't pushing the envelope you aren't trying to win". These things make a difference. There is an advantage to your opponent not knowing who will and won't be on the field.
    • XL, Coker, Horn, and a heavy dose of TE's should still be fine to catch 11 Bryce passes
    • It’s also a reverse hex.
