I don't think there is a "probably." The NFC South is about a 99.9% likelihood of being a 1 team playoff division.

Not statistically, logically.

Remember when the NFC South was the toughest division (circa 2002-2006 when every NFC Championship game featured one of the four of us?)

I know. It's been a wild downfall.

Yea. Which means our odds are largely tied to being in 1st in the division.  I’d expect big swings based on the standings.

100%. It's really on what the Bucs do. We are probably gonna get the poo kicked out of us for the rest of the season(for the most part, I expect 1-2 more wins) and they have a significantly easier schedule. We are probably going to have to rely on them to fall apart. They haven't really looked particularly strong, TBH.

Barring some sort of collapse, it seems there will be at least 2 coming out of the North and at least 2 from the West. East will have 1. That's 5 of the 7 spots, 6 when the South winner is included.

There is something to say for the final stretch of games, minus the Saints, are a gauntlet of playoff teams or playoff-caliber teams. If the Panthers get in, they will have proven on the field that they belong. If not, it will be the famous missed opportunities of Jacksonville, Arizona and New Orleans games.

Not sure you can call JAX (and even AZ) missed opportunities. JAX has a good chance of making the playoffs and AZ isn't as bad as their record shows

They are missed opportunities in that both were games that had a good chance for victory. Jacksonville does have a good chance at a playoff spot and would be in if the season ended today.

Enough fans were buying into the nonsense of making the Superbowl because we began with Jacksonville.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
