I agree re: coaching, though to some extent, players just need to know better too. Where I think coaching failed completely was on situational playcalling.

He led the team in rushing yards today, he was genuinely our entire offense man. But yeah, he's why we lost.

163 passing yards is a norm for Bryce.  That’s not NFL production from the QB spot no matter how he scrambles given the type player on the ground he is. 

Shough lead his team in rushing today as well….and was pushing near 300 yards in the air today. 

Shough was the best QB on the field.  Again.  And yeah, that’s why we lost both games.  Opposing team has the better QB play.

Weird how you cared about Shough averaging 8 more rushing yards a game than Bryce last week, but now they don't matter when our QB leads the team in rushing because Dowdle was useless outside of one drive.

Just root for the Saints already.

At this point we are at a fork in the road and we are going to have to choose between these two options.  Option a) Pay Bryce Young franchise QB money and let other key pieces walk when their contracts are up because this ain't professional baseball, salary caps actually matter or b) Continue to build other key spots on the roster and draft a QB or get a reasonably priced QB in FA.

I hope we choose option B.

I don't even think they watch the games at this point. They're just looking at raw statlines, because I'm not really sure how you can look at this game and say Bryce was the issue.

I don't know how you can watch games and not see him as an issue. His physical limitations impact every aspect of our offensive gameplan.

I don't think he was "the issue" or "the / a reason" we lost. But he's clearly limited, and was just massively outplayed by a rookie (I mean given people last week claimed he outplayed Stafford I feel this is fair game, lol).

I tend to agree.  But it was 4th and inches.  If we had an adult sized NFL QB who could just lean forward without getting broke in half, that’s an easy call.  Instead, the play all itself was a further indictment of Canales.  He literally ran the same poo earlier.  No wrinkle, no obvious difference.  And the return was minimal the first time we ran it…  so, had I known he was just gonna caveman it, then yes, take the points.  I just wish someone, somewhere in this front office and staff was consistently good at anything.

Again, Shough lead his team in rushing too.  His RBs were useless too.   So, that doesn’t justify why once again, Bryce can’t put up NFL production as a passer
