Give Legette another season?

We need a third WR that the defense respects.  We need a qb who throws the ball downfield.  We need an OL that can pass block.

I feel like all our receivers are different versions of the same guy. I find it hard to believe there is no place for Horn in the offense outside of a reverse play. Maybe we aren't capable of using him with our current distributor. We never hit on any of these crossers that other teams seem to be absolute money on

I can only imagine how Horn feels knowing that XL is feloniously stealing his reps. It is literally costing Horn $ on his next contract. That’s criminal. More sus roster management by Canales.

Ladd was there for the taking and we decided the WR room needed size and a potential X receiver instead of the better talent.

Sadly, I think the problem is both. 

The biggest issue is that he is a very, very low football IQ player and he isn't a 20 or 21 year old. What sense does it make to keep him around for 4-5 more years while he learns the position?

I had to add this to this thread after seeing it while looking at overall Panthers penalties for another thread.

Xavier Legette has somehow managed to be tied for team lead in penalties taken this season.

He is tied for 2nd on the team in total False Start penalties.

He has also somehow managed to get two Illegal Touching of a Pass penalties this year. To make clear how insane this is, he currently accounts for 50% of all of these penalties in the entire NFL this year.

The offsides on the offense was a new level.  I don't care if he's on the team next year but he should be receiving (or not receiving) play time based on merit.  Which means he shouldn't be in the game most of the time.

The variety of penalties he has gotten flagged for is truly eye opening. He really is overwhelmingly our least disciplined and arguably dumbest player. 

It's bananas that he gets playing time.

Dude...stop.  I agree that XL needs to be benched, legit is not an NFL calibur wide receiver but Jimmy Horn is a rookie 6th round pick.  He has shown flashes and he will get his shot, but hes still a rookie 6th round pick.  Hell, Steve smith as a rookie in 2001 had 20 total targets, late round guys dont get huge traction.

Also, Horn is more likely to cut his teeth as a gadget/slot, but because the staff cannot accept that XL is ia bust, they wont put Coker outside and horn in the slot, or even tremayne outside and JC at slot.

I would honestly rather healthy scratch XL and activate Renfrow at this point. At least he won't be actively hurting the team.

Renfrow is a net positive so I’d agree, but Nicole might prefer XL’s personality.

Im legit curious if they soft benched him yesterday because on the 4th down to save the game in the 4th, he wasnt even on the field.  I only noticed because they cut to Canales and XL was standing behind him with his helmet off.  That seemed to be like an intentional move by the coach and maybe they finally move on from this dipshit.

1 billion percent.  Bryce got benched for better performances than what XL is doing.  Remember, same guy who after being out from injury when asked what he learned from watching the game as opposed to playing said "Nothing really"...clueless

Long overdue, if so. I hope he is benched Saturday. 

I honestly hope this is the last we see of him in a Panthers uniform.
