I think I joined around then. Maybe 2004. But it's hard to remember back that far. I was here several years before the crash whenever that was. I still can't figure out why I stick around to support this team.

08 site crash..... I think i joined in 04 when it was panthershuddle I came here because they shut down the scout boards....  I mean dial up internet and the nfl website looking like this heck I remember reading this cover article during the pre season lol.

Ahh, what a nice walk down memory lane. Back when we expected the Panthers to win games. Not surprised.

Lol, very nice! Back when Julius Peppers was hitting his stride and Smitty was becoming THAT guy! Panthers defense was elite during the Fox era. Had Rucker opposite of Peppers, Kris Jenkins, Minter, and of course Dan Morgan. I didn't start paying for monthly Internet until around that time. Became a huddle member around 2012 or 2013. Very nice memory!

Who are the main posters around here? What are they all like? What did I miss?

I've come and gone over the years here, it hasn't been a straight 23-year run for me, but I initially joined not long after it was established too.

I stick around hoping that this team will get it's act together.  Under Jerry Richardson, you knew a bad season was going to turn around the next year or two.  We were at least mediocre most seasons and playing for something meaningful in December whether we ultimately made the playoffs or not.  This cycle of misery is strictly a David Tepper phenomena. From top down, bad decision after another.  It seems to be looking up somewhat this year, but we still have plenty of warts to eradicate before anything thing really positive or sustained will be in the cards for the Panthers.

Just seeing QB after QB dropping dimes 15-30 yards down field every game I watch this weekend has just been ruining my mood, lol.

Hopefully we get our elite deep ball expert (:|) back to form next week.

Don’t let football kill your mood brother. Sports are for entertainment, not suffering.

You missed prime time in the sites history, lots of threads and discussions. Site owner very involved (photographer for the team). On field pictures, fun threads. Spent way more time here before Reddit took over sports. I imagine after a decade of suckage there are probably 4-5 of us left.

    • After some of the calls last year probably won't see much of a drop off
    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48344034/nfl-begin-hiring-replacement-officials-given-state-negotiations-nfl-referees-association   Honestly fug these refs and their union. Resisting changes that would actually incentivize good performance and not seniority based systems. What a bunch of donkeys. Hope the replacements straight up take their jobs and never give them back. Sick of watching refs script games with no repercussions.
    • Donovan seems like highest risk to me. Lloyd and May have already established relationships with all these kids. There’s probably guys hitting the portal that they recruited from HS. And then there’s the possibility of transferring their own guys from their current teams. They’ve also been recruiting the HS kids for like the next 5 years already. Look at the Iowa coach who hit the ground running by transferring all his guys from his D2 program. Or going across sports to Cignetti transferring all his JMU guys year one then building off that to a national title year 2. Donovan is starting from square one having been in the NBA so long and he’s already 60. So you’re potentially punting year 1 for a guy you are just hoping to be a 10 year hire while you figure out how to actually develop your next home grown 20yr guy. That’s 1/10th of the time you have him, more or less at best. The hope would be that he would find some high level assistants who have been working the college recruiting trails already, but then are you giving up his ideal staff just to get a foothold in recruiting and transfers. Think Belichick year one was bad? Imagine how much worse it would be without Steve Belichicks transfer portal pulls. Hoping Mays or Lloyd are all they’re cracked up to be.
