Listening to him right now, as a matter of fact.

His knowledge of the team/game is remarkable. But, his opinions are almost always wrong... lol! It took him until like 2 weeks ago to admit that Bussi was playing better than Freddie. Gold swore it was all strength of schedule and Freddie still looked as great as he always had.

And, he's so confidently (some would say arrogantly) wrong that I find it highly entertaining. I can see why he annoys others (including all of his former co-hosts) though.

Well I had to listen to all you guys, only fair to have you listen to Adam Gold. Summary at the end- if you want a Stanley Cup, solve the goaltender problem, get a legit 2C. Nothing that hasn’t been said before.

I literally laughed out loud when he said that he prides himself on being honest with his listeners after spending the last 30 minutes gaslighting and straight lying about defending Freddie.

I mean it’s what we have been saying for three years. Goalie and 2C. This must be the year it’s happens.

We have around 10m in cap space to make moves, and with the loopholes being closed we will have less competition for them due to being the only contender with space.

Eventually everyone comes to the conclusion we need another goalie. But why not accuse those who matter most in continuing to count on Freddie,  Rod and the Canes management.  It isn’t Adam Gold who keeps playing Freddie.

I've been critical of the organization's lack of urgency in addressing the goalie situation for a few years.  And it started with the annual injury reports when Freddie was a good goaltender. He got hurt every season, missing stretches of games, yet the Canes insisted on keeping him. 

At least when Freddie got hurt, it forced the Canes to call up Pyotr, who was eventually given a heavier workload when Raanta's game went south.

Much the same situation now, except the Canes don't have a backup plan and, right now, they can't assign Freddie like they did Annti.

So, while the Canes can swing for the fences and bring in a Guentzel, Raantanen or Ehlers, the same can't be said for the goalie situation.

And, yes, this team plays 2 different styles of hockey depending on who is in goal. Not a recipe for success.

The Canes will be eliminated in the 1st round again this year. The Canes have 15 losses, Freddie has been in net for 11 of those. That number becomes more glaring with each loss and if the situation is not addressed, I fear the fanbase is not going to be very forgiving in Lenovo the next time Freddie is in the lineup.

I hope to see changes in the goalie situation and 2C to give the Canes a real chance in postseason. If Freddie isn’t replaced, it does look like an early exit from the playoffs unless Bussi plays every game and isn’t injured- not a good place to be in.

Reimer isn’t an option. He had his time here and wouldn’t be much better. Primeau wouldn’t be much better either. Our next goalie is going to come from another team it’s probably going to be a hefty price but it’s also going to be a really good goalie from a bad team.  Saros just makes too much sense. Heck, the back up for Dallas is a good goalie.
