Maybe it’s just me, but I’m wondering why we aren’t playing him more snaps?  I have loved flashes I’ve seen from him throughout the season, and he flashed a couple times Sunday.  I would love to see him get more of Wonnum’s snaps opposite Scourton.  I really think the future is bright for both of them.

I believe he lost snaps earlier in the season because we were getting gashed to his side on run plays. Coordinators for other teams picked up on it and he became a liability. 

 

I agree he finally flashed on a few plays. I hope thats a good sign for the work he has been putting in.

Wonnum is a FA. TBD if he is even back.

Yeah, I remember early in the season he wasn’t grading out very well, but just in terms of how he was moving and maneuvering as a rookie, he always impressed me.  I figured if he could hold his ground against the run, he was bound to play more and show more.  I hope he’s already there.  Love his athleticism.

He technically has a higher ceiling than Scourton, IMO. It's just a matter of him realizing it. We need him to develop because our EDGE group is probably the worst in the NFL at the moment. They produced a whopping 11.5 sacks as an entire unit.

I think Jones II is back.  Princely should be better next year, Scourton is going to be a beast.  We will probably draft one.

Jones can be jettisoned to save money but we can't clear out the entire room without doing something to bolster it.

IMO, we lack any starting caliber EDGE players. Wonnum, Jones, Umanmielen and Scourton are all rotational guys. The young guys could develop, so we should keep them regularly involved.

I think Edge is our biggest need.  Atlanta, as you saw, drafted Pierce and jalon Walker and they got much better.

We too need to get better at Edge and LB--Wallace and Rozebook are reserves if you ask me--at least part of a rotation/situational alignment.

Well, technically it's QB but I do agree an elite pass rusher is absolutely critical. We cannot keep being one of the worst pass rush teams in the NFL.

He’s on the Bonitto plan. Situational starting out, we’ll see if he can develop beyond that. Next year will be a big tell but shouldn’t hinder us from getting a legit proven compliment to Scourton.

I like the rookies. We need to sign an impact vet. Rookie edges often need 2-3 years before making a real impact.

I agree, we don't need to draft another young edge rusher to add to this group, even a 1st rounder as we'll now be late in the round too.

Biggest FA contract should go to the best pass rusher we can sign, use that 1st on a LB or S
