I was just thinking that i remember this

didn't think i would be able to find it.

I actually never saw it before the draft. I just found it last night trying to find Cokers' college numbers. He definetly called it.

Funchess got a second contract for starter money.

he wasn’t nearly as bad as legette, he just alligator armed the biggest catch of his career.

I mean it should be kept in mind he had recently separated a shoulder and was dealing with that  but yeah

This maybe unpopular, but I would venture to sway that Coker is the best receiver on the roster at the moment. TMac has more potential, but as of today, Coker is the better receiver.

Over the last 5 games:

Coker: 24 targets, 19 catches, 79.6% comp, 3 TDs and 255 yards

TMac: 26 targets, 14 catches, 53.8% comp, 2 TDs and 231 yards.

Career wise:

Coker; 89 targets, 872 yrds, 73% comp, 0 drops, 5 TDs and BY has a QB rating of 113 when passing

TMac; 122 targets, 1014 yrds, 57.4% comp, 8 drops, 7 TDs and BY has a QB rating of 83 when passing

Cokers numers are very similar to Theilen's and Theilen was a 10 year vet who has been to the PB twice.

Coker; 89 targets, 872 yrds, 73% comp, 0 drops, 5 TDs and BY has a QB rating of 113 when passing

Theilen; 199 targets, 1629 yrds, 76% comp, 9 drops, 9 TDs and BY has a QB rating of 104 when passing

If TMac can bring his comp numbers up a bit, this offense could be pretty legit.

And one final tidbit of information. Going all the way back to Cokers' senior year at college, he has only had 2 drops. Pretty amazing.

Not really buying it because T-mac faces stiffer competition week in and week out.

Coker has earned his spot---truly earned it.

I still believe that we need to add a more dynamic speedster with high upside to the mix. Then we can really soar, provided we get upgraded QB play...

I agree with Tmac and rookie struggles. That's one of the reason I feel good about the offense improviing next year. A slight improvement in his numbers and Coker just continuing his current pace would be pretty strong receiving core.

You are aware I am very bearish on the QB position as it stands now but I also think there are bones there for a good offense. I am sure you are also aware that I also think we have one of the worst OC's in the NFL, so that is a limiting factor too.

If TMac continues to develop, the sky is the limit. He could be a Hopkins/Fitzgerald type of player for us.

Coker has a much lower ceiling but let's say it peaks at(who I think is an excellent comp) Jacobi Meyers. A crafty, excellent route running possession WR that will be a dependable option on 3rd downs and be enough of a threat to allow your deep threats to run free.

I do think we should continue to try to upgrade the WR corps. Tremayne and Horn Jr. could be something but having a true #2 or #3 guy could elevate us to a top 10 WR corps for a long time. This should be something we should be pursuing in the draft/free agency over the next couple of offseasons.

Another reason I dislike Canales. His personnel management makes me miss Ron Rivera and his awful roster management.

He should have been given it sooner, for that matter. I agree that we need to mine Day 2/3 for the next couple of drafts to find an excellent, speedy WR. Not some RAS idiot, someone who can actually catch the ball and has route running tools that can be sharpened.

I wear the term "WR extremist" with (perhaps a perverse) pride ever since @tiger7_88 called me that, so it didn't escape me that you left out day 1, but just like with T-mac, all I can say is "BPA," brother. I kinda hope it's a legit pass rusher, but if not, then I will not be mad at a WR (or pass catching TE).

I think they will likely shop him around.

what are they gonna get?  a 2048 7th rounder?

Just keep him, hes cheap, maybe he can become something.  Prob not but they are not gonna get anything for him so might as well be patient and see if the light comes on.  Sometimes WRs to figure it out in year 3.

He missed a lot of time. Was slow getting back up to speed. And we have an offense that is not exactly WR friendly so his targets were low.
How many targets does anyone get when you have 120 yards passing, 54 yards passing, 160 yards, most of the time? It probably took the time it needed to take.
