It seems the Panthers have earned their respect back

You said that when you made the point Canales is not the long term coach here. Am I missing something, that’s how you suggesting Canales will be gone after next season. Also using a complete hypothetical as an argument is utterly pointless, yeah if we win 5 games next season that would lower Canales long term coaching odds here. But, why would you assume a total regression this guy almost doubled our win totals from last season. Assuming a regression of 3 wins is a flawed argument.

Because we had a ton of things go our way this year and made the playoffs with a -70 point differential.  This year was the outlier.  Regression to the mean is unavoidable.  So the team will have to significantly improve to beat 8 wins next year.

I believe it was the worst differential for a playoff team ever? Not sustainable. Also our division imploded, we wouldn't of made the playoffs in any other division. We need a 10+ win season next year or big changes need to be made.

I don't really agree with 10+ wins being necessary.  I just know what Tepper will likely do if we only win 4 or 5.  I think that's a lot more likely than 10+.  Canales is just too limited as the OC.

The only point I was making is that the next coach will come from a better pool than Canales did.  Because our team's reputation has been repaired by giving him a serious chance.

With more respect comes with expectations... which kind of scares me. This franchise has never handled that well - SI picking us as the SB champs for 2006 still haunts me.

But I'll take this over being utterly dog water.

It will be fine. Don't you worry. Just wait until we staff the left tackle spot with the bits and pieces we have lying around on the roster right now!

Point differential in 2024 was -193.  This year we improved to -70.

In 2025 Rams are +172 but we beat them once and barely lost to them in the playoffs.  Stats are facts but conclusions drawn from them are not.  You need context.

Yes, we very much need to keep improving and will do just that as long as we don't listen to the Huddle and pull the plug in the middle of building something special.

We have a team that is tough as hell.  A QB, who despite his small size, stands tall in the face of pressure.  Physically and mentally.  You can see that leadership and environment that Canales is building.

The front office is actually a unit.  The team has bought in completely.  The talent level has grown and improved.  We have a rich owner who is not afraid to spend money on the team.  We are a young team and have had to fight back from the worst years in franchise history.

I'm damn proud of this team and the future is looking brighter and brighter.

    • SMH. Yep, I was just saying this one play means everything. Combine drills are big to me so someone saying they watched them and he looked like Little out there is concerning. We’ve got people saying he had the wrong cleats on when Indy has turf and has literally hosted every combine I can recall. No one wears the wrong cleats there. Oh well, I’m a bit more worried about a raw guy because some flag football coach watched the drills and felt similar to how I felt when Little ran drills. Also, by the way, Little was considered a top 15 prospect by all the same ex-NFLers until his combine was so bad and we still took him in the second. Heck, Little was a PFF all star because he gave up 1 sack in his much longer college career. Little’s athleticism was terrible too so at least Freeling might be able to fix the reaching and falling but I’d rather have heard he killed it on the positional drills instead of looking terrible.
    • Arch is essentially too big to fail with his family. Not saying it’s right but he’s a lock. Moore would have been the #2 pick this year, he could have a bad year and still only fall to Jake Locker levels
    • The TE and Edge projections were just lazy and ignored the dire situation on the oline.
