Man.. This team has so many needs. It wouldn't be the worst idea to draft a tackle, but there isn't an OT I'm a huge fan of that could be available in the 19 range. Caleb Lomu had a lot of preseason hype, but he had an underwhelming season. Got worked by Texas Tech's edge rushers. Lacks fundamental strength. Kadyn Procter projects better as a guard with his lack of foot speed. The edge rushers leave a lot to be desired in this range as well.

Yeah he is probably not playing next year at all, so either you are drafting 1 or finding a starter in FA. Unless you think you have it on the roster already. I would be hesitant to say we do.

We can't go into the season with an illegitimate LT and expect Bryce to actually improve. That's how I feel about any current roster options. BC is convalescing, and he was probably a stretch too. As much as we are talking about pass rush, LT may have just become out biggest need. SMDH.

I will say the tackling overall was improved compared to years past as well, the secondary was tons better, and I loved that we finally seemed aggressive and played with that smashmouth-style we had been missing for years.  But, it is obvious we had some holes, and having no edge rush was a pretty gigantic one.  But it’s also interesting because I just shared a clip of Princely where they asked him about there being no edge rush and he said, “it’s not because we don’t have the players.”  And it sounded like he felt we didn’t need to bring anyone in.  He also said he didn’t get enough opportunities.  So it could be ego talking, but it definitely sounded like he was implying our scheme/strategy is the reason there was no edge rush.

Maybe he's right, maybe he's just being a baby.

Need to draft a LT and plan on moving Ickey to G at some point. Not many players get back to the same level after that injury. It’s also concerning because Moton is getting some age on him.

Ekwonu missed a game a few weeks ago, and I wonder if the pre-cursors were present them and he played through it

I mean you may just need to let Njiman do what backups do and fill in for next season, or for the games Ekwonu misses.

he wasn’t bad stepping in this season and there’s a lot of other different directions this team would really like to go as part of our build. Kinda just depends on whether or not you expect to get Ekwonu back at all. If he’s coming back, if you like him and anticipate resigning him, you may just have to ride it out.

That’s sort of my thinking as well. I’d also bring Brady Christensen back too.

Icky has become a lot better but he wasn’t all pro game to game. I don’t think it should affect our first round pick at least.

My father ruptured his in his 40s...that knee was never the same ever again.

On one hand, Icky has superior genetics to 99% of the population, which works in his favor, but on the other, he also is carrying weight on a frame that is larger than 99% of the population, which works against him.

I feel like we tag him, give him a year to see if he can return to form, then they make a decision long-term.  I just don’t see them dumping him altogether as a result of the injury.

Yea thats definitely a jab at Evero. Tbh it's two.

Yeah, that’s how I took it.  I know he’s young, and I know he’s competitive, so he wants to play and feels if he did a lot of the issues wouldn’t exist.  But that whole exchange was a massive dump on Evero.  Hard to tell if there is anything to it because of his personal feelings though.

So are we going to give him a big contract now? Honestly I wouldn’t. We could let him go and just sign a LT in FA for the same amount of money or draft a LT. I’m fine with BC or Nijman at LT next year honestly.

With chances of the player making a full recovery or even being close to the same player as before being low, I honestly am fine with letting him go. Maybe take a 1 year deal next year for the cheap to see if he still has it.

i know it may sound mean but it’s not a charity. We can’t win if we are giving big contracts to players who can’t play. He’s already a multi millionaire so not like he needs the money.

Tackles are hard to find...but I'm hoping they wont pay him big money. I think hes average.

if you expect to resign him then I don’t think you let it.

it creates a setback in your build that you would really rather not have.  I mean I’m open to the idea of upgrading LT outright if it’s possible but if you just accept what Ekwonu is and believe Moton has some good football left, and it’s pretty fair to believe this given that OTs seem to be having longer careers, then I think you just keep moving. If an elite LT falls in your lap go for it but otherwise..
