Happened to me during a game, though not nearly gruesome. Spiral fracture a finger in 3 places, cracked another and I taped it up, numbed it up and kept on playing another half. Ended up at the Dr the next day because my fingers wouldn't bend. Coach was mad because I was out a couple weeks but there's not a whole lot of blocking you can do with broken fingers.

So… do they still work?
The thing about that pain meds and like.. that novocaine cocktail, masks real damage being done. Or will mask it

4th seems to be about the cut off point, and even those are rare. Tackles can sometimes hit in the later rounds of day 3, more so than an edge rusher will.

Just curious.. what pass rushers taken in the 4th round here recently puts up 10 sacks a game? Because that's what we need. Can you get a body before the 4th round sure.. but a impact player at edge before round 1 is rare.

Scourton for what ever you think he was getting 5 sacks is soild.. it's not elite.. and another 5 sack guy wouldn't give us what we needed. We need a day 1 impact guy. James pierce 10 sacks as a rookie at the end of the first round we need that. We don't need another princely project type player we need impact. Impact isn't not to be had after the 1/2 round at the pass rush position.

If the team is mart they would draft a backup plan for the possibility that Ikey may not return. If he does then great. There's a good chance the rookie will take T Mo's spot when he retires. But stick to bpa in the draft please.

That is possibly fortunate and allows us to react more aggressively. I kind of feel like BPA within a subset of positions is good enough unless the value is insane like Luke was.

In this situation I feel like reaching a few slots won’t kill us. Plus Dan seems to be pretty good at trading back.

I'm afraid he might trade up in the second for someone. Not sure who yet. I need to see the visits before I start to guess who they might target.

Probably most notable is Maxx Crosby. Sacks are an overrated stat. Being disruptive is more important. I'll take pressures without sacks than sacks without added pressures. I'm not saying they're common in the 4th, just you can't have the attitude an impact pass rusher can't exist because they're not in the 1st or 2nd round.

You named one guy out of hundreds every year. Yes sacks aren't the end all be all but they are field flippers and they end drives. When you need the ball back sacks are critical in getting off the field on 3rd down. You simply don't see many elite pass rushers that aren't first round picks. Look at the best sack artist in the league from to recent 90% of them are first rounders.

The guys that are good at getting after the quarterback are identified Early.

Rookie pass rushers rarely get 10 sacks regardless of were they are drafted, Thst said you seem to be assuming Scourton will stay a 5 sack guy, (which i don't) he tops out as a 8-10 sack guy tho IMO if hes your primary pass rush threat, has the robbin to a pure rusher i could see him getting more though.

That would continue the pattern. He is pretty good at getting value from what he trades away when trading down, which gives some ammo for a trade up.

I'm not saying most rookies get pass rushers even first rounders are 10 sacks guys. I am fine with scourton I think he's a solid player. He does have 10 sack potential.
