I get what you're saying about showing up but like you said, TV money dwarfs stadium, but people have to tune in. That's the normal fans they've lost the connection with. I barely watch NFL anymore because the product is poo. With all the technology, it's easier to see how bad the calls are and most of it could be fixed with some effort. I realize they're trying to go abroad but soccer is far more popular worldwide and I don't see American football taking that away.

If they wanted to maximize profits, fix the product before it gets down right impossible to watch, and it's damn close to being there. Pro wrestling is still popular even though it's scripted because they're embraced the show and entertaining the fans. Goodell is probably one of the most out of touch people I've ever seen when it comes to being relatable to the fans. At least Vince McMahon is someone that embraced his villain character. RG is just a douchebag.

I watch a ton of NFL because the product on the field is still the best on the planet. But, that will only get you so far. US sports fans are an aging crowd so there will be a dramatic drop when the Boomers die off and the GenXers do, as well.

The Millennials will probably be the last major generation that watches sports in high numbers.

And for some reason, people have insinuated soccer into this country, over the last twenty or thirty years.
With all these people that were imported, that is gonna leave a mark.  Soccer is their game.

Soccer was somewhat of an inevitability because it became a popular youth sport in the 90's and early 2000's. That was were the rise of soccer here really came from.

It is likely it will play a much smaller part of the future of US professional sports for a very long time.

Maybe one day, the Panthers will have a shot to lose 18 games in a season. Tepper will probably still be rolling Young out to start.

Every team makes the playoffs. Seeded 1 to 16 in each conference. Playoffs end sometime around St.Patricks day. Every team has a 20 game schedule but each player can only play in 18. League makes billions while making the structure of Baseketball look simple.

    • I hope Stefanksi flames out in ATL but Baker hasn't changed one bit. Busy trying to settle scores through the media instead of focusing on his craft and not returning to the form that got him jettisoned from Cleveland in the first place. I love that the Bucs are getting to see the real him.
    • Or how about Kirk who had an incredible 250 yards receiving this year.  XL finished season with more yards than Kirk.
    • I think it’s pretty clear he is. He cut off beane when he was going to answer the question about Keon to blame McDermott and the coaching staff for picking him. And then said one of the reasons he fired McDermott was after seeing Josh Allen crying in the locker room after the game. Everyone talks about Buffalo being an attractive job because of Allen, but I’d have to reconsider after hearing the owner pretty much telling you that’s he acting quickly on emotions and is giving all credit for success to the GM instead of the coach who helped guide them to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years (with Tyrod Taylor at QB) and 7 out of the next 8 years. Just a really bad look all around.
