Top 5 draft targets for positions of need

Not sure why expectations were so high of him.

He is talented.   He is capable.   I knew he wouldn't come in here and become a starter without injury.

Players need development.

I didn't expect him to be a superstar, but haven't seen the development in the second year, at all

He was a much more complete player.  That is development.

I think this next year- year 3- is an important year for him.

Also depends on how the offense uses him.

Daniel Jeremiah's top 50 players heading into the Combine.  Lol at the people still pining for Styles.  Dude will be LONG gone before our slot as I noted he would be.  Go ahead a keep drafting him at #19 if y'all want to keep ruining/making unrealistic mock drafts.

There is not a universe that Bailey is a better prospect than Reese.  And if we are being honest Styles is probably a better football player he just doesnt rush the passer as much

Bailey is a better pure EDGE rusher.  Splitting hairs though, because they are ranked right next to one another; they could easily be flip-floppled.  Bailey is another one I thought would fly up the rankings and he has.  Remember, it was just a month ago he in range for us to pick.  That's the reason I stopped mocking him, along with Styles.

An example of what we need in bpa.But to your point if the room is full the value isnt the same.Need creates value.

Yep and that is why teams have different boards.

I would refine the lower valued position limitation mentioned here to the bottom quarter or third of the first round. There are a lot of really good players at these low value positions taken from right around where we pick and later. All positions I guess.

For us, some highlights

Gamble @ 28

Beason @ 25

Kelvin Benjamin and DJ Moore went late too but man I’d be fine with trading aback a little and getting a Beason level player.

I'm seeing a lot of projections with the team drafting Keldric Faulk from Auburn with the 19th pick. Am I the only one not liking that pick? Everyone is saying he has potential this and that, but I'm not convinced that his numbers (2 sacks) will suddenly get unleashed on the pro level.

I don’t generally research these guys very hard anymore but I have seen some mocks where he would be long gone by 19.  I think I saw people saying he was a very stout run defender, and would likely pick up a few sacks. No big numbers.

Does he fit in a 4-3?  I dont think he does

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
