Well if we're going down that rabbit hole then most of this subforum and a majority of the fanbase would be barred from participation because they didn't want Kon Knueppel they wanted Ace Bailey or someone else. And none of this is unfolding the way it is without Kon Knueppel. Just reality.

Differential says the hornets are the 7-8th best team in the NBA. They started the year off injured and horrible in clutch moments. They are -6 in expected record because of the above two things and have found out how to win. 

 

Coaching is absolutely not a problem at all, it's a big reason they are turning the corner and winning. 

 

12-3 over the last 15 with only one of those losses at full strength. 

+2.8 differential 

Starting lineup has the best net of any 5 man lineup in NBA history. They are favorites in 15 of the teams last 22 games. 

Their expected record is 44-38, which likely gets them the 6th seed.

They would not be favored in a series vs Detroit, Boston, New York, Cleveland, Orlando, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Houston, Denver, Minnesota, Lakers, Phoenix or Golden State.  And I could argue they wouldn't be favored in a series vs the Clippers.  That's half the league.

You've still got to have a bench play 20-25 minutes a night, but by statistics, yes it's the best 5 man lineup in the NBA by net this season. 

 

 

They have games against Boston x3, NY, Minnesota, Detroit, SA, Orlando, Phx, and Miami x2 in the last 22 games. 

Projected losses vs Boston 3x, NY, Minnesota, Detroit and SA. 

That's it, that's the 7 games they are expected to lose the rest of the season. 

They are favorites against Orlando, Miami and Phoenix.

You said "HISTORY".  And now following that up by saying there are 7 scenarios where a team is better than Charlotte.
