Certainly that's relevant but are you really going to pretend like he didn't have to change his whole throwing motion to try and take the next step as a passer? And he's worse now than he was before. His air yards per attempt were 6.21 the lowest in his career. And we have a fourth year QB whose air yards per attempt was 6.23 last season. The fact that anyone is even mentioning the words contract extension is literal madness.

I think unless its a no-brainer to extend a QB, you probably shouldn't do it.  Most of the big QB deals do not work out outside of the real stars, which are no-brainer extensions.
