the most consistent things about Bryce Young, so far, is that he starts the season off 0-2 and ends the season strong. He also misses one game a year, has yet to play a full 17 game schedule. I'd like to have a backup who can come in and make a challenge for the starting role for when Bryce takes his yearly week off.

I think he has closed the gap a little bit between him and a backup coming in and badly showing him up.
But not so much that someone could not come in and make the offense look like Andy did in Seattle week 3 2023. That poo was night and day to Bryce was putting out.
So, they are in a sense playing with fire by getting rid of Dalton and actually trying to bring in someone to push him.

In the Bryce Young era against the rebuilding Saints post Brees and post Payton we are 2-4 against the Saints. And the two wins we barely squeaked past them. Legitimately pathetic.

Yeah we just can’t accept that level of play going forward, from a guy in his 4th year.

Oddly enough I was just in another thread and saw someone saying if Bryce has another statistical year like last season (4-6 to finish the season and swept by the Saints en route to backing into the playoffs with help from the Falcons) that we should ink him to an extension.

These people are mentally ill or something.

They think it’s hitting a baseball I guess.  3 successful ABs out of 10 gets you paid.

I have a post from a day or two ago just off the cuff, I didn’t document… but going through the season and putting his quality performances in one pile and the rest in another.
I don’t know what kind of success you can have with that.

People who think that because he played well against the Rams in the playoffs means that he will do that in every game going forward are willfully ignoring the flip side.

But his people have always been fond of cherries.

It doesn’t mean he won’t but it in no way proves he will.

He did play better against the Rams. But that's the crux of the issue. He is closing in on 50 career games. There have been plenty of past Panthers QB's who ultimately weren't the answer who would have undoubtedly flashed here and there if we had given them this many starts.

Hopefully Dan Morgan actually fields a realistically competitive QB room this go around and we will be able to see the offense with someone else in the event we see the same thing with Bryce. IE one game he stinks plays better for a few games then stinks again then plays better one game stinks again then plays better for a few games because the heat is on. Like cmon enough with this. He's run out of rope.

I said before, if his level is Rams WC game and can make that be the norm, I would be okay with him. It was not Great and I don’t like not having certain skills at the position but it was good enough to meet an acceptable competitive standard. For me. To get off his ass.

So the single game passing yards record in franchise history isn't flashing? Here or there?

His two best career games as a Panther were both in a dome in Georgia. I mean credit where it's due let's hang the banner. But what's his record everywhere else? What's his record against the Saints?
