What fans don't understand when they hear "BPA" is that what it really means is the "BPA for OUR team" which factors in things like the needs of the roster, scheme fit, etc. Every GM is going to claim that the player he drafted was the BPA. It's nit like you're gonna have one step to the podium and say "Listen, I know we passed up on better talent but damn y'all, we were desperate for a *insert position here*" even though it's very obvious rhats exactly whats happening with some picks in every draft.

It means not reaching for a NEED, it doesnt mean you have to take the consensus bpa, you take the BPA that could upgrade your team even if its not a DIRE need.

It means they're going to be true to their board and draft the top player on the board as opposed to reaching for a lower graded player based upon need. It's that simple.

It doesn’t seem hard to figure out for me this year. I know everyone is wanting some type of weapon but I think it’s almost certain they will draft a Tackle in the 1st round.

-Ickey may not return to form/contract expiring

-Walker only on 1 year deal, if he does well enough to resign it will be expensive.

-Moton getting older, could save money by letting him go after next season.

-No real depth behind Walker or Moton this season.

Its pretty clear they will go Tackle as depth piece to either take over at LT or RT long term.

If Tepper is in on Morgan, and if Morgan thought that was the best strategy, he has to let him be unafraid to make his move. Whole lot of ‘ifs’ there.

It is the least sexy 1st round pick next to not having one, not much Christmas morning ‘unwrap your presents’ feel to it. But when I look at the big picture it is a solid option.

We have to have some rookie contracts on that OL while keeping it strong.
Moton is very short term, Icky is now a totally unknown quantity, and it is very conceivable that we could be in the market for a new QB in the 2027 draft.

In which case we could not draft a tackle over a QB in the 1st in 2027. So if you find the right one has fallen to you in 2026, it should be very seriously considered.

Any chance Corey Thornton gets back fully healthy and nickel corner isn’t a need ?

I think he is in the Ickey, brooks group..... His injury was pretty bad and when these UDFAs guys get one of the worst types....they don't have the room to lose .7 off the 10 split. Just sucks for them, I still have hope tho.

He earned the NB starting spot with pure want and grit. It was around week 12 too, where the rookies hit the wall...Thor hit the starting defense instead!!

Hope he didn't lose too much and with some luck he could be back stronger....I don't think he's that type, cause he was already known to be a hard-worker. The OTA and mini will be huge for him........

final- I feel there's 99.8% chance Dan drafts a 3rd round or _____ CB to take his job.....he's just got to keep out working them and stay healthy...

Right now, I'm growing to like a few different spots.  It's always a balance of things-- to me, it seems like the best combination of value, impact, and need-filled falls with the OTs and DBs.

OTs: Freeling, Blake Miller & Caleb Lomu specifically

DB: Thieneman, McNeil-Warren, Avieon Terrell

One of those 6 or more will be there and it would be a solid situation.

-otherwise...

EDGE: There's a good group of well-sized prospects at this spot.  Sure, we've got Philips/Scourton/PU/Jones, but there's some fun talent.

ILB: CJ Allen - still one of my top guys but it may be too rich for him at 19 considering the ILB class

TE: Won't hate Sadiq if picked but not necessarily pining for him

DL: Haven't been heavily sold on anyone yet.  Like Woods and McDonald, but I'm not fully there with Banks.

...Keldric Faulk is interesting/the ceiling is fun, but unsure if that's worth the squeeze.

I actually believe OT is the most likely pick in round 1

I always felt it should be, but when I play it out in my head we are at the end of the buffet line. The year one guys are gone at 19. The player who might be ready in year two, you could get later,  so value enters into it some.

Maybe it turns out better. The draft is such a dynamic process, one curve ball early can throw everything out the window for a few picks.

that's fair. I kinda think we are going to suprise some people and take one of those guys who needs a year or two. Who knows maybe in a trade down situation where someone wants Tyson

I don’t think they’re going to draft LB but if there’s either a LB or an out of left field pick-I’d imagine it would be anthony hill jr. seems like the bubbling narrative is that he may go a whole lot higher than projected. Actually-given the cowboys links to a LB at 20, if the panthers were trying to get them to jump up and take a LB, they’d probably be smokescreening LB more….. and since they’re not…..

Hill Jr. has a great skillset, some coaching up needed. Can definitely see certain teams coveting him over the more sound types. Think he could definitely go R1

Lol and since they are not signaling that to Dallas, it means they are taking one if they can. lying season. Good luck deciphering the truth.
