How exactly does one win OROY "by default"? Wouldn't winning the award mean that of the two, McMillon stayed strong the entire year while the other guy didn't and fizzled out?

That's like saying Secretariat only won by default because the other horse stopped moving midway through the race. Absolutely zero logic in that statement, which makes me very glad that I've never really paid much attention to Walterfoozball.

He refuses to admit when he's wrong, so he simply creates alternative realities where his lousy prognostications panned out. Why would a player win OROY if he only played well for half a damn season? If T-Mac played well for half a season he'd have given the Panthers a D-...

Another great example. From Week 1 to Week 18, he listed the Panthers as one of the NFL's most overrated teams. BY WHO?

Of all the concerns to highlight work ethic and passion for football is as lazy as it gets. All you have to do is watch an interview with him and his rookie highlights to see that is the farthest thing to be concerned about. Now getting him well placed throws on a consistent basis....that's another discussion.

That was definitely getting pushed from somewhere before the draft.  A lot of the draft guys started saying it a couple weeks before the draft, Todd Mcshay and a lot of those type of guys all started saying it a lot.  Im not saying I agree with it, im just saying it was definitely getting put out there before the draft by some of these guys.

Imagine giving the OROY a C. I've seen some bad takes on the internet but this goes full retard.

By default apparently

Yeah, he just "by default" beat out every other offensive player in the entire draft. With Bryce Young as his QB no less.

Former GMs have admitted to leaking information like this about players they really wanted.

You've got a guy that put up crazy numbers AND looks great on tape AND has all the measurables. You really want him, but you're not picking that high, and you know he's not making it to your pick. So you leak stories about his "work ethic" or "character concerns" and hope teams ahead of you buy it and pass on him. Literally former GMs have admitted to doing this in the past... so there's that.

Not saying that's what happened here 100%, but it's at least a possibility. And Dallas (and I think at least one other team) were going crazy trying to trade up into our spot when we were on the clock, and it was specifically to get TMac.

I think I saw the Rams mentioned as offering assets to trade into 8. They took TMac instead of offers.  Looks like a very good decision at this point.

Walterfootball was never good. None of them are ever good, Kiper, McShay, Jeremiah. Watch the games, make your own assessments.

You really do need to do that if it is a serious hobby. I don’t look any more until we draft someone then I look. Exception was 2023 because we cut our sack off for the first pick. I looked then. The horror…. I wanted my sack back but Tepper had it in his clutches.
