I certainly hope so. While some teams have signed players and improved, we're stuck just hoping not to get worse right now. That's right, the team that is drafting number one overall and went 2-14 is just hoping not to get worse at the moment.

I think CJ is higher than that, given the defensive minds on the staff and the possibility that Marshall will not return... pass rush will be of the utmost importance.

With Stewart and Goodson on rookie deals which are totally cheap, Williams would be the only big money back. We could sign him to a 6 year 36 million dollar contract with no problem. If you only guarantee 16 million of it and backload it with roster bonuses and bigger salaries at the end which he won't likely see, it could be very manageable. You might end up paying him 20 million of it over 3 or 4 years which would be a deal. The key is not guaranteeing all of it upfront and backloading it which we wouldn't have to pay if he wears down once he hits 30.

This. People tend to forget that Stewart isn't making big money. Yes, he was a 1st round pick, but the only 1st round picks that get the huge contracts are the ones that go in the top few picks.
