Burress, Boldin and C.Johnson all being shopped

The agent for Plaxico Burress reportedly is shopping the embattled New York Giants wide receiver around the league, and the team is none too pleased.

Citing multiple sources close to the situation, the Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., reported on its Web site that Drew Rosenhaus sent e-mail to every NFL team earlier this week indicating Burress could be had via a trade.

According to the Star-Ledger, the sources said the e-mail contained a list of Rosenhaus' free-agent and draft-eligible clients and three clients identified as tradeable -- Burress, Anquan Boldin of the Cardinals and Chad Johnson of the Bengals.

Very smart move on the part of Rosenhaus. By doing this it forces those teams to at least listen to trade offers. I know a lot of people hate Rosenhaus but IMO he is the best, like him or not. If I was a NFL player I would want him to be my agent. As a fan though I don't really want any of our players to be represented by him. Double standard, yes but there is a difference between the teams best interests and a individual's.

And this years draft has a huge pool of talented WR's.

There are going to be some disgruntled veteran wide outs, probably for the foreseeable future.

i think you are right. adding TO to the list....there is some value that is going to be diluted.

TO, crazy johnson, and burress are going to be the biggest losers in everything.

people know who they are now and i don't think their future teams are going to want to pay much for these walking turds. sure they have a lot of talent but they are also going to have to be dealing with a lot of other talent available.

    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
