Yo GabbaGabba's Pro Means Nosthing!

I think this article should temper your expectations of a "Pro-Day" -He still looked awkward dropping back and throwing it.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Why-Blaine-Gabberts-pro-day-doesnt-mean-anything.html

However, the biggest concern I have watching him on tape is his overall feel and instincts in the pocket. He’s a guy who doesn’t look real comfortable any time he feels a rush and fails to consistently step up and buy time for himself in the pocket. He also prematurely drops his eye level and will flush himself backward out of the pocket.

Didn't see any article from the National Football Post. However 19 threads bout the Gabbert hype machine is way too much but this is a good article that expresses concerns that are there from the regular season and career despite the pro day.

but 500 about the newton hype machine is ok?

It's a thrad for posting things about Gabbert, it's not complicated.

Thanks for the link. It's like 6:25 am and I rather enjoyed getting a new link on the first page of a thread rather than sifting through insurmountable pages of garbage in the other thread. Cam can get a thousand threads and Yo Gabba only gets a mega thread, half of which people are talking about Cam anyways... I appreciate it. Thanks and don't worry if some posters are eager to come across as dicks instead of actually reply to a significant and new thread.

Also, the part where it said he's a 2nd round talent does scare me. This time last year, Jimmy was a first round taken and potential top ten pick. Maybe Gabbert is destined for the same slide, and as Jimmy showed, maybe for good reason too. No doubt the tools are there, as with Jimmy, but pocket awareness is KEY. also, it's important to be a real winner in college.

Peterson or Dareus, there's no sense in reaching for any of these QB's with the # 1 overall pick.

if you think that a guy can be your franchise's guy, then I don't believe that it's possible to "reach" for a QB. most important position on the field. if you believe that that player can be your franchise QB, then draft him.

You can't take every writer as gospel or you'll end up being pulled in a different direction every time you read a different article.

I missed where Gabbert wasn't a winner in college... Didn't he have like a 23-6 record or something... Sounds like a winner to me.

Could have gone to about any school he wanted and decided to stay home and go to a bad/average team. Nothing wrong with that.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
