No one is saying he wasn't terrible last year, but insightful minds will point out the fact that there are endless QB's that sucked their rookie campaigns only to end up being elite passers in the NFL. Is anyone saying Clausen will be an elite passer? No. Are people saying that it's about as smart as a cow turd to dump him after a bad rookie season? Yes.

I hope for improvement from Clausen regardless of what we do for QB this year because he was TERRIBLE. We need to do something because that improvement seems unlikely right now... but that something doesn't need to be in the draft.

The thing is, JC wasn't just the worst starter, he ended up ranked below even a lot of the back ups. He will have to move up about 12 spots just to be the worst starter in 2011.:eek:

The fact that people say "they hate having to root for him" is ridiculous.

Hell we all hope for it. That way all we have to do is build a good team around him. I have no reason to believe that Rivera is confident in JC though. Even JR was ready to draft Andrew Luck without even seeing him in person.

I don't know what to expect with a new competent, offensive coaching staff.

I trust the guys we have here now to develop some good talent, so I think it's possible Clausen could be one of those guys.

One thing's for sure, our last QB coach whose name shan't be uttered, couldn't develop a QB to save his life..or his job.
