the problem they seem to be running into now is that they predetermined the series would be 7 seasons of 10 episodes. this season doesn't feel like it has a natural flow, like they are trying to jam the story into the allotted episodes.

I expected bronn, Jaime or both to have gotten killed in the fight last night. kind of surprised neither did.

liking the Sansa story, since new even for book readers.

her wedding dress was awesome. she looked like a true winter queen. Ramsey is creepy as fug, can't believe he tapped that. I thought for sure she'd have a surprise waiting for him.

I love the show and I anticipate every episode... I will continue to do so...

But something about this season is off... the pacing, that they're trying to do to much but really aren't doing much at all, idk what it is...

I'm hoping that they're building to a wild finish, but based on what's gone on so far, I just don't know.

...and they're changing so much from the books that I haven't a clue where they're going other than rough generalizations.

Oh well, still love the show.

I think it just at the point you're at in the story... The EXACT same sentiment was uttered by a lot of book readers post Red Wedding in AFFC...

I think it is a combo of PTSD and not knowing how the show will flesh out in comparison to the books... We are all suffering it to an extent, I believe...

Based on what we've seen so far and where I think the show is going, these last 4 episodes are going to be pretty action packed and have plenty of awesome moments...

Just make sure you watch season 2 before season 1. It makes a lot more sense. Then the series is hard to swallow bc the lead actor of cancer. So they had to replace him.

The season you're telling him to start with begins and ends with giant finale spoilers from season 1.

I think the biggest issue is GRRM signing off on things. If he and book readers had it like the books, the show would span 15 seasons and be BORING AS HELL in certain seasons. Showrunners have SO much to deal with (watch the Netflix documentary on them ... it's insane) to make ratings and TV they feel is good. Finding a happy medium is probably impossible for them so they do the best they can.

This is a great point, it's got to be extremely difficult to make this show and you're never going to make everyone happy.

Some changes had to be made, that's not an issue at all.  I don't mind changes and GRRM himself has said that he considers the books and the show to be completely different things that are telling the same story and will come to the same conclusion.

Us book readers sometimes have a hard time understanding WHY things are changed (doesn't mean we should know) because it seems like they're really deviating from the main story, but in reality they probably aren't changing it at all, just how we get there...

Yeah, like Jenye Poole, for example. If they had done her book storyline in the show, no one would care. There's no way they could've introduced her and made viewers invested in time for the rape. Sansa, however, as hard as it was to watch, we've seen from day one and love her character. Either way, Ramsay made himself evil, but now I think it's more compelling because Sansa's hopeful revenge will be a thing of beauty. Meanwhile in the book, Jenye Poole ... meh.

I kept seeing people say the "black wedding" (Sansa and Ramsey last night) was worse than the "red wedding".

I understand rape is awful. But how can you compare it to the brutal murder of a lady, her son, her son's wife, and their unborn baby? Doesn't even seem close to me in brutality. Like not even in the same realm.
