Or just their red flags, whatever.

Because I can.

Newton:

1. Poor accuracy

2. Character issues (liar, thief, family issues)

3. Played in an offense that was more simple than my high school offense

4. Not very smart (simplified offense, having to cheat on testes, not being able to grasp florida offense)

5. Athleticism will not translate well to nfl

6. Runs more than he throws

7. Tired of hearing KT

Gabbert:

1. Did not dominate in college

Your turn!

Yeah, because we need ANOTHER Newton thread. Hell, I've got a picture of him in my sig, and I'm getting sick of it.

But I'll bite...

Or just their red flags, whatever.

Because I can.

Newton:

1. Poor accuracy

No evidence of this in his stats from junior or Div1 college or consistent multi-game footage.

2. Character issues (liar, thief, family issues)

Mostly rumors, or charges that were dismissed, or had nothing to do with choices he made personally, and has no bearing on his ability to perform on an NFL field.

3. Played in an offense that was more simple than my high school offense

Many current NFL QBs came from spread offenses that have had success translating to the pros.

4. Not very smart (simplified offense, having to cheat on testes, not being able to grasp florida offense)

Again more rumor about the cheating. As far as intelligence goes, he scored a 20 on the wonderlic. Dan Marino and Jim Kelly's scored 15 on the test. What does it matter if he can make plays?

5. Athleticism will not translate well to nfl

LOL, yeah, cause his arm strength will be a problem? Or maybe his ability to out run a good many LBs and some corners will not work out for him? JFC...

6. Runs more than he throws

Completely false.

7. Tired of hearing KT

Then stop giving him ammunition with stupid posts like these.

Gabbert

1. paper champion-looks good in the class room but does none of the things he talks about on the field.

2. Accuracy- He just can't exist in the down the field type offense ron is bring in (15%) with the deep throws.

3. Happy feet- this guy move around the pocket just as much as newton if not more for no reason.

4.Product of hype-Seriously how many of you knew who blaine was before the start of the draft process? what has he done on the field to believe he can lead us anywhere?

5.Character- Believe it or not getting in to violent fights could translate into a team issue as with steve smith.

6.Not that good of a athlete- yes he has a good 40 time but doesn't really translate on the field looks clunky like a robot trying to escape the pass rush(luck does as well).

7. Name- I for one don't want to cheer for a guy name blaine gabbert or yo gabba gabba or gabby or "gabrielle union"

Newton:

Character issues. Has he grown up from earlier mistakes prior to Auburn.

New mechanics. Will all the work with trainer translate quickly

Offense. No idea what new offense is really going to entail so how does he fit.

Gabbert

Accuracy. Also coming from spread offense but was not as accurate as Newton

Blitz performance. Showed shaky peformance being blitz in college will it be worse in pro's

Arm Strength/Deep balls. Will he be able to stretch the field with his arm like it seems like the coaches want.

Might as well be. He knew it was stolen, therefore stolen property in his possession. Maybe he lied about buying it?

completed 66% of his passes

he threw more than he ran

don't know how smart he is....

athleticism does translate well to the QB NFL......but you still gotta be able to make the throws for it to matter.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
