Typical woman...dragging ass.

it's not like it was dropped in her lap this morning.

It's also not like it's a simple case.

We all have an outcome we want to see - and to us that makes it cut and dried - but it's not so simple for the person who actually has to render the decision.

No judge wants to be overturned on appeal and injunctions are rarely granted. Granting this injunction assuming she does so will be HIGHLY scrutinized on all levels. Granting this injunction also establishes case precedent in this district. Net net is there is a lot more going on than the average Joe understands. Trust me on this one, this will not be decided anytime soon. Only scenario we can hope for is a short window to open for free agent acquisitions before this goes to a full trial on the merits. You don't tell a $9 billion business to stop doing something this quickly through the court system. Just doesn't happen that way because both sides are so lawyered up.

Ok we need to stop all the free agent talk, there isn't going to be Free agency this year.

Look you can't undo what would be done. If she rules for the injunction and everyone starts switching teams, then the appellate court over rules her, you can't just put them back. Nor can you delete the legal binding contracts etc. There will not be any free agent movement till this thing is settled 100%.

And honestly I HATE free agency. It has ruined the game imho. We were better off when teams had to draft and develop a team. Who cares if there were dynasty's, learn to draft better. As for as the fans, you could buy a jersey of a player and know his ass was staying there for his career unless a trade happened. That aside, there is no way in hell she can grant any form of free agency, too many issues down the road if she is overturned.

I don't see this thing getting settled till end of July if it goes to the appellate courts, they will definitely take their sweet time for the reasons you mentioned. By then its way too late for any free agency at all due to teams rushing to camp to get a season underway.

The only way you see any free agent movement is to have both parties grow the fug up and get this resolved at the negotiating table soon.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?    I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
