kerry to cam to kerry?

Fiz just wants a recovered alcoholic to lead his football team so he has someone to look up to when trying to defeat his own demons. I think that's the most poetic thing about this theory tbh.

Then we should sign Jeff Garcia to help you defeat yours.

I went through the "Collins 1.0" disaster and I would still love to see Collins back in a Panthers uniform to end his career, I think he would be a great mentor for Cam.

Kerry Collins is our prodigal son, he needs to come home. I'm sure there's a part of Kerry that would like to come back here and do what he can to make things right. I've heard him repent many times about the mistakes he made here and the harm he did to the organization.

The interesting question is whether or not JR would have him back? I thought I heard Gantt mention at one point that it was out of the question.

If you went through Collins 1.0 disaster you:

1. Would not think he would be a great mentor... How well did he mentor VY?

2. Would never label him our prodigal son, more like our basard child

3. Would not think a part of him wants to come back here to make things right. (he didn't have many good things to say about Carolina, post-Carolina)

That being said, he is a hell of a QB, but I feel like you just posted all of your hopes and dreams based off of a youtube highlight vid you saw of Kerry Collins first 2 years in the league.

It ended messy...

I don't care how good Cam may become one day, if I was sitting beside Rivera and the call from Atlanta came in offering us that same trade package, and Rivera turned it down, I would have punched him in his head!

.....I'm just glad it didn't go down that way.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
