Does Kealoha Pilares beat out Armanti Edwards?

Recommended Posts

Pilares has had the luxury of playing WR 2 years to work on route running, etc..

however, Edwards could prove to be a beast.. one of the biggest things holding him back last year was he lost his legs early into the season. I expect that won't be the case this year.

that must be why JR is working so hard at getting the "wheelchair receiver" clause written into the CBA

I don't get this hatred for AE when he rarely had any opportunities to play in under Fox.

I think this is a clean slate for everyone on the roster and I really do believe that he could be another Josh Cribbs (ironically Cribbs worked with Chudzinski)

I would not rule out AE just yet

Kealoha was recruited by Hawai'i, as a slot reciever. But to get him on the field, June Jones, moved him to RB. Played WR in HS. He was behind Devone Bess, before the move to RB when Bess left, he moved back to wr.

  • 5 weeks later...

Pilates is gonna see more PT than AE simply based on the fact that he actually has experience at WR and he weighs more than 120# soaking wet holding a keg.

fun fact, pilares can actually hold a keg over his head and drink the beer from it while running in a full sprint.

Its on youtube

no it isn't

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
