Didn't he hear......

Cam is too busy basking in the Mexican sun to be bothered with such trivial things as football and playbooks.

it's not like other teams and QB's are working out....oh wait....

Que? You're joking right?:sosp:

i'm watching a lot of Auburn games from last season to get acquainted with the new franchise quarterback, and Ziemba is a punishing run blocker. he was easily the best Auburn lineman. i don't get the sense that he has great feet, but once he gets into his man, he can control the guy and basically drive him crazy. i like what i'm seeing.

The key in 2008 was Hangartner & Bridges being there to pick up the slack when Kalil/Otah missed their games. We need a couple of guys like them again; I thinkk Ziemba can be one of those guys as well as Schwartz. What we need is a starting-caliber RG.

I've been on the Marshal Yanda train for a while now. Guy can play guard or right tackle; gives us an instant starter at RG plus a backup RT, which would allow Schwartz to stay at guard, which I believe is his best position.

He'll be a free agent if/when a CBA is reached. I'm saying I think we should sign him.

ah. well it makes some sense that they would go after him, if coach matsko raves about him. at the same time, they have just drafted young depth to pair with young depth already on the roster, both at T and G. i don't know how aggressively they'll pursue a free agent guard if they like the young talent on the team and got a couple of guys in the draft that can play more than one position on the line.

I really wish that I would see the Panthers players getting together and working as a unit during the lockout.

I am sure that most (if not all) of the players are working out. However, the team building would be most beneficial fo rthe young Panthers.

Yes, I'd like to see ALL of our team working out. Drew Brees has already gotten most of his team together and has worked out. Although Brees has the kind of money to do that Newton and Clausen don't.

i've got a good feeling about ziemba. he might get paid like a 7th rounder, but he won't be playing like one.

with the amount of luck we have keeping the oline healthy, one way or another, he's going to be starting a few games this year.

dude is someone you want to have on your team and someone a QB is going to love having blocking for him for a long time.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
