Clausen had a very good Junior season in a more traditional offense. To try and compare the things Clausen and Cam did is idiotic at best.

I'm sick of defending Clausen but it's the truth.

When you look deeper into the numbers, neither Cam nor Jimmy were that impressive.

Clausen still did nothing.....did nothing his entire college career. Football is about winning at the end of the day. Only thing Clausen has ever done is beat up on less talented teams dating back to high school.....everything else is followed by excuses.

What Cam did was impressive unless you are a diabolical hater......he basically single handledly walked onto two teams and was the main reason for both National Championships. He walked onto an Auburn team that was at the bottom of the SEC and won it all......

Numbers lie......football is about winning. Cam wins. Too claim looking deeper into Cam shows what he did wasn't impressive might be the most absurd thing posted on this board in months.

You're right, Clausen did nothing in college.....like Manning, Rivers, Rodgers, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Cutler, etc...........

So you are saying they all had losing records as college QBs and there greatest win was against Hawaii (or similar irrelevant program)? :rolleyes:

I for one, have not given up on the guy. I just think its funny that all the Cam lovers are willing to give up on Clausen after 10 games, yet if Cam sucks it up in a full year of play they will say its not enough time to evaluate him. The double standards amuse me. :)

If after 341 NFL pass attempts.....Cam Newton has not gotten a single WR into the endzone.....I would not set a double standard for him. He would suck.

This ain't about Cam to me. It was about a trade, until the Cam freaks came out of the woodwork to remind us all how great he is and how much he wins. 0-0, QB rating 0.0. That is all we know.

Now is not the time to trade JC. First, he needs to sit on our roster at #3. He has the preseason to show improvement, and I think he will. Secondly, right now, everybody has a QB plan and JC is not better than their hopes. Wait until a few bust, someone gets hurt, etc. We could get a third rounder for him during the first month of the season. Tennessee thinks Locker is the future, Minnesota likes Ponder. Arizona thinks they will get Bulger or Kolb, and SF thinks Kaepernick/Smith will be awesome.

I think after 6 weeks (assuming we play), reality will set in. I promise you all that Clausen is not a bad QB. He will never be great, but tearing him down is childish and stupid. Again, John Elway threw for 47% as a rookie in as many games and had a lower passer rating and all of Denver hated him. I should not have to tell you how that turned out.
