New York is hopping on the Panthers bandwagon

On a side note, I did crop one girl out of the picture for the reason of I didn't want any attention drawn to her being that it was Glen Wesley's (Former Hurricane) daughter. So at least I have my dignity in my heart and I didn't set up a tripod in the middle of some random cafe and smile while holding my delicious Greek pastry in a slice of Baklava.

However, I really enjoyed the trip and the hospitality was great.

BUT... They do need a Bojangles up there, it was the first restaurant (I can't believe I just called Bojangles that) that I went to after returning home.

Cam has that Tiger Woods star quality and smile. If he can do half of what we think he can do on the field, he will be one of the most popular figures in the NFL.

No he doesn't, Cam doesn't look fake when he smiles. Nor does he look like he has a mouth full of piano keys like an old Loony Tunes cartoon.

Hell yea. Every time I go home on leave Bojangles is the first restaurant I eat at. Followed by Chick-Fil-A. I get me some Boberry Biscuits almost every morning, too. Those trips home are far and few in between.

I even had a buddy when I was in Hawaii that had family in NC too, he went home on leave once and when he came back he brought me some Boberry Biscuits in his carry on luggage lol. 30 seconds in the microwave and they were a little slice of heaven.

i'd be getting ready for a lot more attention from ESPN as well.

may get some night games coming up. MNF people don't care about good games, they just care about what's marketable. like it or not...cam newton is just that.

Good deal. I'm here and I'm not leaving. Whether Cam does well or struggles. I've needed enough reason to pick a favorite team in the NFL for years and never really could find a good one, so I adopted the Dolphins and Texans, but never really got to where I cared much about the Fins. The Texans I still like since I went to games in my time in Houston and they are an underdog type, but I didn't really like Houston (the city itself). The Panther's appeal to me. They are not winners right now, I pulled for them in the super bowl years ago, they are still a young franchise, they are "Cats" like AU, wear blue like AU, are in the South, and I have been in NC many times (mostly hiking, camping and stuff when I was in high school and college).

Throw in Cam, and I think I have finally found a home.

Same here.

Used to be a bit of a Falcon's fan (forgive me), but the general state of douchiness that has pervaded that organization from the example set by Arthur Blank on down gives me the constant feeling of :puke: .

I like Jerry Richardson. Man holds himself with class and is a hands-on owner WITHOUT feeling the need to get constant camera face-time (take lessons Arthur Blank). Also a huge fan of Ron Rivera, as a player and a coordinator. So why not as a head coach?

I felt that way toward Richardson and Rivera BEFORE Carolina drafted Cam. Drafting Cam was just the cherry on top.

God, I hope the Panthers beat the living crap out of the Falcons and wipe that greasy smile off of Arthur Blank's face. :hurray:

I realize this is some extreme huggerism but Cam Newton has the potential to not only be a superstar but the biggest superstar in the entire NFL.

If he can turn into a good QB he has the looks, charisma, recognition, etc. to be one of the most marketable figures in all of sports.

Cam is going to be the greatest athlete in the history of all sports. I heard recently he hired chuck norris as his official ball scratcher.

Agree about the Falcons. I tried for years and years to pull for them, but they just kept pissing me off. It started with that dirty bird crap 10 years ago, then Blank thinking he is Jerry Jones, and on and on. Now they even drafted Julio who also pisses me off. I gave up on pulling for the falcons about 4-5 years ago. It just wasn't ever going to happen. I guess I have pulled for the Texans more than any team the last 4-5 years. I respect their organization and coaches. They can never seem to get over the hump, so I want them to and finally make the playoffs.

Now I have the Panthers to finally be a fan of. I like and respect Rivera a lot. He is going to make believers out of the rest of the league and Cam is what he needed IMO. The offensive talent is their if the line is healthy. The defensive tackle position will hopefully improve and the offense can give the D a breather this year. I guess I need a Carolina cap or some other gear. I haven't bought any team's gear in 20 years since my parents bought something for me as a little kid, but I feel like I need to support my new team in some way now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I do not like the Saints either. Something about them pisses me off too since they won the super bowl. So, I get to develope some reaal animosity now being in the same division. I'm ok with Tampa though. Always kinda liked them with gruden and they have Caddy also. Plus I like to see their cannon go boom.

As a fellow Panthers fan, and a former North Carolinian, I am disappointed in you for supporting Man U. Following NC teams should have installed a more responsible fandome in you. Leave the deep-pocketed bandwagon teams for New Yorkers to follow.
