Charles Johnson an elite DE?

When I first saw this post, I was thinking to myself, what about Deangelo? But, I remebered that we have Stewart, so basically, although it will be nice to get D-Will re-signed, Deangelo is a luxury, while Johnson, is a nessesity.

Beason and Kalil need to be mentioned as well.

Surely, with all of the cap-space we made room for last offseason, we can make it happen for all of them.

Kalil is franchised (assuming that still means anything when it all shakes out) and Beason is still under contract, so we're likely covered there. 100% agree, however, that Beason needs a contract extension well BEFORE free agency.

Did anyone else notice in another article in this report that our saftey SMartin was one of the bottom 20 for missed tackles by a saftey?

Looks like a good cover safety, but he aint great against the run. People just see the occasional big hit he puts out.

If hes resigned theres a good chance ill own his jersey next season.... and maybe cam newtons :cam:

You might want to hold off on the Newton jersey until he has a few good games for us.

The Golden Calf of Bristol's jersey sold like hotcakes as soon as they were available.

So did Armanti Edwards and Clausen....

Johnson is going nowhere. He may not be considered an elite player but he certainly had an elite year. The one positive from last year is Johnson and the rest of the D never gave up. They were on the field for a ridiculously long time every game but never lost intensity.

He deserves a big payday and lets say he was elite last year.I think when you incorporate his run defense and the small amount of help from our DTs. he was pretty special. Now we need someone on the left side to pick up there game.

greg hardy can fill that role, imo.

the problem is and has been what we have tried to pass off as DTs.
