Rosters could expand...

I like this change more than the defenseless player one, that's for certain. Though, this will obviously effect the cap.
if the roster size grows, the cap will grow along with it. the two ideas are married together.
I hope they do this without extending regular season games..
doubtful this happens unless its just one or two spots added.

if its extended, it will be switching two pre-season games into regular season games. that's it. only thing is that the players will get paid for them being regular season games and will be exposing their bodies to wear and tear in games that matter rather than games that don't matter. fans that go to them will be paying full price to see a regular season game rather than full price for a try out.

i'm just having a hard time seeing a problem with two regular season games replacing two preseason games (unless it's a season like last year for the panthers).

i do, however, have a problem with requiring it and at the same time telling the players that there is going to be less money available for salaries. work more, but earn less? you can't expect anyone to be happy about that except owners.

I can't accept that 2 preseason games equal 2 regular season games..

and it's not just that simple.. I don't see the 1st stringers sitting out most of the 2 preseason games because now you only have 2: the team needs to gel.

so now you are playing closer to 20 full games (think minutes, not just games) than 16 full and 4 blah..

I just don't accept it's that cut and dry, and won't wear down our team more by playing more overall minutes throughout a season, when our team already has (typically) had an uphill battle when it comes to injuries.

Owners would rather play the Pre-season games. If we have more regular season games its cause of the players.

based on what?

the owners want more revenue, the players don't want to grind their bodies down..

never have I heard the opposite.... really curious where you can source that information.

    • Was at the game and NYCFC honestly outplayed CLT the whole way.  Khalina and Zaha carried the team.  Zaha's wife on IG making it sound like he's gone come July. They're going to have to pay him or find a big time replacement because the team looks like pretty lost without him.
    • No one's saying LaMelo has no blame we're responding to you acting like he's the reason they lost. The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
