NFL.com rates Smitty as one of the best WR's in the game.

It's done via a grouping system, with Group A being the best, Group B being the 2nd best, and so on..

I personally would've put Smitty in Group C, but Smitty is still ahead of some pretty big names on the list. It's a pretty fair list all in all.

Shame how much the poor passing game we have had in Carolina has hurt Smitty's rep as a dominant WR.

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Smith IS one of the best WR in the game when he doesn't have a retard throwing to him.

#17 to #89 was one of the best combos in the league the past 10 years.

Who would you rank ahead and behind them?

. Roddy White, Falcons (^): Has 200 receptions and 21 touchdowns.

Group A = hell no .. thats a case of only being decent because you're the only receiver being thrown to , he was above average his whole career and he has 1 great year and now hes the 5th best in the game .. bull

4. A.J. Green, Bengals (^): Although he hasn't played a down in the NFL, the talent is obvious. It all depends on who the QB is in Cincinnati.

5. Julio Jones, Falcons (^): He's going into the perfect situation: a tremendous quarterback and Roddy White on the opposite side. Jones will see single coverage all year long and should put up some impressive numbers as a rookie.

Once again Bull they are above 15 other receivers that have played a down of football , and you can say they have talent , ( dwayne jarrett had talent too) but you can't rank someone that has done nothing. /rant

My coworker, a Chargers diehard, was talking about the rumors that Smitty make come to my hometown team if he leaves the Panthers. I would love to see 89 play for the Chargers if he won't stay. I don't know how successful he would be, but man he was amazing in the past.

You could fill a good 30 minutes with nothing but insane highlights from his career.

Manning to Harrison and Culpepper/Brady to moss .. can't think of any others atm

I'd say these guys should probably be considered tied or better

Warner - Fitzgerald

Schaub - Johnson

Warner - Holt

Rodgers -Jennings

Manning - Wayne

Palmer - Johnson

Roth- Holmes

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
