Best Metallica Album?

The Link

Recommended Posts

Metallica was an alright band. As a drummer however their drummer was always horrible. Just horrible. Decent Lyrics, great vocals and an amazing guitarist how can you leave out an elite drummer? The drummer simple style numbs my brain. It is fun to play the Metallica songs they way you would. I'd rather the band die than fade out but that's just me.

Anything before the mid 90s by Metalllica is great. I loved the lighting and kill em all. Puppets and JFA is good too...

AJFA for me. But really, that, and Master/Lightning are super close. I like to really think of them as a trilogy and put them together. Kill em' All is also amazing, but a first album. I liked Black too, and I even liked Load/Reload, but not "loved" like the earlier ones. I really dig S&M though, it's really cool and Garage Inc, wasn't bad for a cover album.

St. Anger was the worst thing they have ever, ever done. So terrible. It could have been decent if the drums weren't so bad and they actually put... solo's in there. Death Magnetic was a step in the right direction, I think it was the best thing they did since Black, and sometimes I like it better than Black.

Oh and this band is amazing live, and still is. I seen them at Summer Sanitarium in 2000 and they were amazing, and then the Death Magnetic tour in Charlotte like, 2 years ago I think, and STILL were amazing.

Hmmmm....now that is a tuff question. each one of they're albums have great songs (excluding ST. Anger) I guess it would have to be M.O.P. seems like everything came together on that album. Justice is a great album....but lack of bass hurts it. Hell i even like Load and Re-load. It is way more easy to say which is your least favorite, and that would be ST.Anger.

When the music of Metallica becomes a discussion, there is always a line drawn at the black album. Most people fall on one side or the other- pre-Black or post-Black- because that was the album that brought them into the "mainstream."

At 55, I'd still go see a Metallica show tomorrow and my iPod is loaded with their music.

That being said, Justice, Kill, and Puppets are phenomenal albums... just as Black is, but for different reasons. Anger is easily the worst while Death Magnetic I think in many ways is better that Black, but shouldn't be compared to the early stuff. It was a different band, a different age and a different generation.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Vikings bring back a familiar face Vikings get: WR Adam Thielen Panthers get: 2026 sixth-round pick, 2027 seventh-round pick A reunion between Thielen and his former team seems too easy. The Vikings are struggling with injuries at wide receiver and a potential Jordan Addison suspension. The Panthers want to see what they have with their younger wideouts, and Hunter Renfrow's emergence in camp as a potential fourth or fifth option could squeeze a roster spot for Thielen, who doesn't play special teams. The problem is Thielen's $6.25 million base salary. The Vikings obviously would prefer the Panthers cut the 34-year-old and pick him up for free, but Carolina already paid Thielen a $1.5 million roster bonus earlier in the offseason, suggesting it expected to have him. His salary isn't yet guaranteed, but it will become so if he's on the roster in Week 1, leaving the Panthers until then to make a decision. If he does get released, he isn't likely to get anything close to $6.25 million from another team, so he also is facing some uncertainty. All sides involved probably would need to give a bit to make a mutually advantageous deal work. The Panthers would eat $1.5 million of Thielen's contract, getting two of the three picks the Vikings got from the Jets in the Harrison Phillips trade in return. Thielen would take a $1 million pay cut in return for having the remaining $3.8 million guaranteed. The Vikings cleared out almost exactly that much when they made the Phillips trade, allowing them to absorb what's left of Thielen's contract as part of the deal. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46053274/nfl-preseason-trades-2025-team-offers-players-draft-picks-contracts
    • From JoeBucsFan. Teams don't usually waste 2nd round picks like that. Kind of sounds like they think he just doesn't belong in the NFL.
