Never thought of this. I think it's a good idea, but only if he doesn't play... Sorry, I just don't think he's the second coming of a Kurt Warner. We'd prolly get him on the cheap as well. I know he loves this organization from top to bottom.

Edit: after letting it marinate for a couple minutes I think this is genius. He already has everyone's respect here... It's not like he'd be the fugin new guy, that when he talks, people will be like, why is this guy even opening his mouth? His work ethic was awesome and he will instantly gel with everybody. I can see him being in the mentoring role just because if the guy he is... I can't get his ginL press conference outta my head right now. The way he cried really got to me... Looking back, it's something we needed to do with his huge contract...

Man I think this would be a CLASSY move by Ron... I know the big cat loved him. He was over there at his house all the time. They had a great relationship.

Who started this thread? Instant swag! I think this would be a great move by the organization.

I am looking forward to those that disagree for various reasons that they will try to explain to me like I have no idea about his career...

I am 100% behind this move and really hope we do it!

I for one would welcome Jake's presence as a mentor to Cam. Would be a nice bridge from the past to the future. I mean, if you consider what we're looking for in other veteran QB's - experienced, mentor-ready, high-character guy - then why wouldn't Jake be at the top of our list?

The only reason I can see for not wanting him back would be if you think the QB we sign will actually end up playing. I've never felt that way, so as far as I'm concerned bring Jake back. I've always loved the idea.

Many here have said in the past that it's a waste of a roster spot on a guy you won't play.

    • Jack Roslovic: Only 2 other UFA, right-handed centers age 28 or under had more points (39) than him- Sam Bennett (51) and Pius Suter (46). There were 4 other centers age 33 and older who scored more: Gireaux (37), Marchand (37), Tavares (34), Granlund (33).  Unless the Canes go old, if they let Jack walk, they won't get a center who scored more.  Thoughts?
    • nope     This is why we come back every year.  Hope springs eternal
    • It's important to differentiate criticism and hate. I can't speak for that individual you quoted. But most people who have been critical of the Tepper's have been so because both of them have made it a point to put themselves front and center and in the middle of team operations and we have been largely horrific more often than not as a result. If people are making derogatory remarks about her that should be met with an appropriate response but if people are being defensive just because she's being criticized all I can say is people should get used to it. Both her and David would have been getting absolutely skewered by the media and the fans if this were a big market franchise. The Lakers are finally being sold off after years and years of public criticism of Jeannie Buss and even though I'm the furthest you could go from being a Lakers fan just about anyone you could meet who is familiar with the NBA would say the criticism was certainly valid.
