Will Clausen really get a chance?

Do you guys think Clausen will actually get a chance to start this season. Will he have a real opportunity in TC?

I'm not sure. I'd like to think he would get a courtesy shot as that's kind of the way it's always been but unless he looks like a pro-bowler I don't see him really getting a shot to compete. He is Fox/Hurney's selection not Rivera's.

I see Moore getting a chance and possibly being the opening day starter and then probably starting a few more games. But it would all depend on Cam's progress.

he could make his own chance but I doubt he will.

Rivera WILL play the guy who is best ready to win games when the season starts.

I agree wholeheartedly. With the lack of reps they have missed by now, I believe Rivera will give practice time to the first QB that impresses him. So it comes down to which QB is going to step up and take the bulls by their horns? And is he even on our roster?

And GOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately these guys are going to get a week or few weeks of practice at best before the first game whenever that is.

Clausen doesnt make it past the first week of free agency/trading. Not that I think he is bad, because I think he did quite good for what he was given. But to ensure this is Cam Newtons team so he can fully concentrate on leading this team, he can not have a clausen behind him. My guess is Clausen, Deangelo, and Smith will all be traded once the lockout is over.

    • Bill Polian and Bill Lekas on Chalk Talks SiriusXM radio this morning.  Polian needs to retire (again). First he talks about Andy Dalton as our backup and then suggests trading down to get Sadiq. Clueless. At least he brought up the hole losing Ashawn Robinson caused.
    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
