count me in with the surprised we were going after moss. he's better than playing with the redskins would have you believe, but still, yeah, a "watered down" version of smith. thought if anything we would have been going after big receivers if anything, tho.

they really are serious about taking the heat off smith. i feel good that we have what we need to accomplish that already. people will look at us not bringing in a vet WR this year and seeing that as a fail, but the truth is the acquisition of olsen accomplished what we needed. having shockey and olsen on the field is going to require a good bit of attention. teams can't afford to spend much attention on smith when they've got those two big guys to deal with, plus gettis, lafell, edwards running around all three of which should be improved from last year. and then we've got goodson who is a threat out of the backfield as a receiver. and then we've got cam newton who is going to require a spy.

i just don't think we have a need for another WR to come in.

i would much rather use what resources we have left to shore up CB and depth positions elsewhere.

I bet we offered Moss knowing we were dumping Smitty for whatever we could get. Smitty didn't want to be here at all for a long time. You don't want your rookie Franchise QB walking into that headache. Luckily Smitty came around.

Plus can you name somebody off of the Chargers Defense from the past Three years? “I know I can’t” My point is that Ron Rivera knows how to pick great players, and turn a subpar defense into a top rank defense. That’s why he has not address the CB position yet. As for the WR, we are good. Two top notch TE’s plus one outstanding #89 to go with Cam need I say more. O yea, SD Chargers defense were rank in the top ten in the league without pro-bowl defenders on their roster. Just a little something to take with you HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Chargers had some talent on D. It's not like Rivera was 100% responsible for their defense playing so well. That said, I think we have as much, if not more, talented than they had last year, so we should be good.

Santana Moss is ok, but he's just a poor man's Smitty. Would we really want two starting WRs at 5'9 and 5'10?

I find it hard to believe we aren't right near the cap (even if we aren't over).. however, maybe we have a little more cap room for both.

not really sure where the logic came from.. we should have signed a CB long before DWill.. 1 thing I think was short-sighted move.

Santana Moss would have like others said, "been a disaster." He is just as small as Smitty, with worse possession and slower speed.

I don't think the cap is a huge issue. When Kalil's contract gets restructured I 'm guessing we will have 5-8 mill to play around with for a CB. Kalil counts 11 mill against the cap this year.
