I live two blocks from work. Grocery store is three blocks. CVS is next door. Liquor store is three blocks. Multiple bars and restaurants of all varieties within a four block radius. The only time I use my car these days is when I need really good produce or meat that I can't find at the grocery store (heading to the farmer's market) or when I go out to the burbs to meet friends to watch football, drink beers, or play poker on their turf. I take the subway to the airport - that's about it.
