Cam's Throws

You may think this is a pointless thread but I really would like to discuss this..

Cam Newtons throws and his form are just insane like nothing I've ever seen in my life from any QB ever. Its just amazing. I'm not saying hes going to be a great QB or not but his form is just the best I've ever seen.

I'm a fan of his poise in the pocket. He seems to have the comfort level of a pro, even when the O-Line collapsed, he held his own and didn't panic to make bad decisions. He's going to be something special, and I have a feeling his improvement will come sooner rather than later.

He throws off his back foot a lot... When he corrects that he will become more accurate. Then I might agree with you..

i disagree. as much as i hate the dude, Mike Vick has a Griffey Jr. equivalent throwing motion. and he throws such a tight spiral, it just looks pretty when it comes out of his hand.

Cannon for an arm.

Very quick release.

Keeps his eyes downfield.

Has great pocket awareness.

Can easily see over defenders.

Mobile.

Stand tall in the pocket.

Accurate on deep passes.

The Bad.

Can be very inaccurate in short to medium passes.

Throws off back foot to often. (which leads to inaccuracy)

Footwork needs work.

Need work reading defenses.

in all honesty, i think his accuracy will improve over time once he gets his footwork down.

if he can stop throwing off his back foot, i think that alone will dramatically increase his passing ability (and it's already pretty impressive)

do you know how insane this place would be if he had hit AE for a diving grab in the end zone saturday night? stepping into his throws better should help his accuracy and add a little velocity at the same time. only good things will come from that

May i remind yall he is fresh out of college and Rivera and this staff will get this fixed. Cam has the drive to improve anyway... we have not seen even close to what the finished product will be. The fact is being so fresh out of college he has shown very positive things

He should be poised in the pocket, as big as he is. He know no one out there going to lay a serious smack down on him

Always good times to hear people comment about a quarterback's throwing motion when 99% have no experience playing the position or coaching.

I thought Brett Favre's throwing motion was terrible and most "experts" would probably agree. However, he turned out just fine.

If he can stop throwing off his back foot, his accuracy will follow. It's just a bad habit that he's had since High School
