Bad throw, pick six interception. First pre-season game after almost no practice time.

It's going to happen. Can't crucify Pickles for that one.

Bad throw....bad LT blocking....and likely bad route...all led to a pick 6.

If Cam had been the one to make that play, all of you bashing JC would be blaming everyone in the stadium.....except for Cam.

Dear god.

Photoshopping does not prove points, people.

You may fool some rookies, but elite posters such as myself are above such trickery.

Wow, what one year makes. You don't remember in Gruden's film study that Clausen said his WR at Notre Dame ran the wrong route and half the board thought he was a douche for it. The WR did run the wrong route and Jimmy told the truth, however, I guess he was a bad teammate for not lying about it.

I thought Jimmy said he called an audible on that play and then he said he guessed the WR didn't get it......

but all that said, yeah....Jimmy should of taken it. Jake Delhomme wouldn't of said Smitty did run the right route. He would have shouldered the blame in some fashion.....good QBs do that.

who the fug cares? it was one damn play, can we fuging move on?

everyone the fug cares, this is important poo. if jimmy made a bad throw it should go a long way in determining who the starter is. if williams simply didn't run the route properly, that's on him entirely (jimmy, with pass rushers in his face, is supposed to fire the ball to where he trusts his RB to be.) of course we'll never know which one was to blame (it's possible both were at fault.)

something to keep in mind here, too - this is a brand new offense. besides the fact that jimmy and cam are still learning the nuances of a 900+ page offensive playbook, williams has been running out of the same fox/davidson playbook for years now and scrapping those routes and replacing them with new ones is not as simple is switching coordinators before your madden tournament.

thanks rodeo for an awesome post.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
